Riding Life’s Waves: Finding Strength in the Highs and Lows
Life is not a direct climb, as some of us once thought. It is filled with different types of ups and downs that are going to surely test how patient we are and how strong we have become. At some point in life, you might feel at the top of the world, thinking that, "Yes, I have arrived," and with just the effect of gravity, you meet your self back to level one like the ground just gave a way under your feet.
I remember when this year started, things started so well, like things were finally in place for me, some answered prayers. The joy of that moment was so incredible. Every one of my wins was celebrated because that matters a lot. We do not have to win big before we call for celebrations; we should be thankful for every moment of light along the way.
But fast forward a few months in the year, and I made a very huge financial mistake. I did not ask questions, and I risked it. Unfortunately, it was not what I was expecting that happened; everything collapsed just like a thunderstorm's lightning flashing through my eyes. It was like I had been leveled to square one. That moment was a bit harder to climb back up because I was having a second thought about myself. What have I done this time around? I should have made more findings on this. Did I make the wrong choice? Or is it my turn to dance to the beat of life?
What pushed me through was that I was able to acknowledge and have more understanding that being faced with setbacks does not stop me from progressing because they are part of life; that is how we know that we are living. I went back to my table and restrategized by learning to pray, work smarter, and walk, and the act of journaling just to focus and tell myself that even though life is filled with uncertainty, it must be lived one step at a time. No shortcuts.
What one of the biggest lessons that I know for sure is that success will always teach us the act of being grateful for what we have, but failure will teach us how to be resilient. I don't know if that applies to everyone, but for me. Both failure and success are needed in our journey of life. So if you find yourself back to the ground let, just have it in mind that it is not over until it is over because falling does not categories you as a failure, only if you give up. You have to take a deep breath, stand on your feet and keep the pace going. Because just like one of my favourite rappers said: "there is a brighter day after every dark night, it is a struggle everyday, everything will be alright if you hold on", you will shine bright like a diamond again. That is the reality of life.

You're right, we mustn't give up, this will end until it ends and we will continue with everything.
