If Yesterday Had a Play Button
There was this particular time that I was thinking about some of these old moments that my mind seems to have forgotten: the aroma from that woman frying akara every night on the street, the full house filled with laughter a from young kids, or the way my skin usually looks when when the harmattan sets in so hard, and some other things. Inasmuch as I wish to try and keep everything, I discover that they seem to escape my mind as time goes on, because it looks like out of sight is out of mind for me.
Even though our phones are helpful in most cases, our phones cannot capture and record all those sweet moments, especially those fun and unaware moments. And even the moment we decided to take our devices to record, they might not be detailed, only capture the event we want, not in full, staged, and filtered, and might look like a rehearsed one.

So, come to think of it, in our world today, everything we do is recorded and saved just like that on an unlimited storage. No filtered or fake details. Just a raw memory of everything that I can watch again when I like. Just imagine that you and I can watch those moments that made us truly happy, the loved moments we shared with people, and all those moments that redefined us for good.
But here is the twist for me. Even though some people might want everything to be recorded for them, I think i am sure that I do not want that. Because some experiences are so emotional and draining. Some moments of my life do not need to be replayed because, looking back, there are days that I do not wish to experience again, and that is enough reason.

So definitely, I will love to keep those moments that I was truly happy, I was filled with real joy and laughed so hard because I will definitely love to watch those moments again because those moments can serve as more motivation for me to keep going forward even though there might be darkness. Because God definitely has created us to forget some moments and remember some so as to keep the balance for us to keep moving.
