The First day of the Year under the Walls of the Old Town of Ozalj

Good day dear people in the Visual Shots Community! 🙌📸

On the first day of the year, this place reminds us of how much beauty lies in simplicity: a stone building that defies time, nature that embraces it, and a day that begins with promise. The perfect moment to pause, give thanks, and welcome everything that is to come. Ozalj and its Old Town are located about twenty kilometers from Karlovac, and fifty kilometers from the capital of Croatia, Zagreb. Back in 2017, in the middle of summer, I was in this wonderful place, the old town was open to visitors, and I took photos of it from the inside. However, this time, only photos from the outside, because it was closed.

So, let's go see together at least from the outside, and that has its own charm because it is located in the forest, in nature, and the day was beautiful! Amazing start to the New Year!

The old town of Ozalj stood so still, strong and dignified — as if it was guarding all the years behind it and those yet to come. Surrounded by nature, immersed in greenery and illuminated by the blue sky, it looked especially solemn. No rush, no noise — just silence, light and the feeling of a new beginning. And I made a wish: "May the year begin just like this — as strong as the walls of the Old Town and as clear as today's sky." I hope my wish will come true
