Actually, I quite like the sense of urgency. I struggle to find motivation when something doesn’t feel urgent. Usually, when I have a project with a deadline 6 months away, I start working on it on day one... then I stop.
And I only pick it up again about a week before the launch, with a bit of stress ^^
