A Quick Visit to a Buddhist Temple
Hello Hivers π Hope all is well with you π
I thought of having a quick visit in this place wherein the last time was I still had my bicycle and drove my bike to see this place but this time walked all the way from downtown area until I reach this place. It feels like yesterday but on this visit it was my first time to get inside the room wherein a golden Buddha was displayed.

Unfortunately, I cannot read Mandarin thought I learned only few words from a one semester course in college, the writing and Chinese characters are difficult to learn though there are some familiar characters as I am proficient in Japanese. Sharing with you a glimpse of this Buddhist temple.

It surprised me to see a turtle swimming on the lotus pond. I wonder how many of then are there living or hiding under the lotus plants. It is a peaceful place.

When I arrived here, I was the only one around also the caretaker sweeping the dried leaves then came Buddhist believers, I observed and he paid attention to these graven images. I think he recited a prayer then went near the main temple.

I became curious then I tried to follow him and his accompanies. It is rare for me to see a Filipino who is a Buddhist believer as our country is a majority of Roman Catholic believers.

The guy's accompanies were not reciting so I think they were also curious about their friends Buddhist belief so they accompanied him, maybe they guy were introduction Buddhism beliefs to them. It was because of my curiosity and keen observation that led me to go inside for the first time as I thought it is not allowed for non-Buddhist believers.

They lit incense before they went inside, I think they brought it or bought outside, sometimes being curious or a keen observer is a step to a first time learning experience.

I am welcomed by this ornament, how I wish I can read in Mandarin. There were no English translations so I'm not sure about the message maybe of peace and goodwill to men or visitors.

The message of this hanging ornament is back to back so again, I'm not sure of the message it contains. The temple is clean and well maintained.

Fortunately, there are postings translated in English inside where the golden Buddha was displayed to have visitors better understand the history of Buddhism.

It is interesting and I appreciate Buddhist teachings, it was informative and educational visit. I'm glad they allowed visitor to see what's inside and learn about their beliefs. In this place footwear is not allowed.

There's so much to learn about Buddhism and they give away free books. Thanks for reading my post. π
