It's another beautiful edition of the Hive Learners Creative Sunday, where we get to share our various creative talents, and as usual, I will be sharing with you an easy DIY sewing tutorial on how to make a bow.

Many people underestimate the usefulness of a bow, if they know the many transformations or differences it makes when attached to anything at all. It can be used to elevate an apparel or hairdo, even a bag, whatever you can think of. If you have a boring piece of clothing, adding a bow would definitely update the look of that dress, just like I did with mine. depending on the size you desire.

I recently made this kimono ruffled sleeve jacket. Look how plain it looks without the bow. You would agree with me that the sequin bow added more glamour and sophistication to the outfit. You can make a bow with any fabric of your choice that is readily available to you. So without further ado, let's get right into the making process.

Materials used

• Sequin fabric

• Stay/ interfacing

• Matching coloured thread

Cutting And Sewing Process

• First, I cut out a rectangular shape, using the stay or interfacing. The size of the bow I want determines how big the rectangle is, so do yours to your preference

• I transferred the cutout pattern to the sequin fabric, you can iron it to the wrong side of the fabric at this point

• We didn't have power when I was making mine, so I just sewed the sides to attach the sequin fabric to the stay, then I folded it, and sewed the center, leaving a little opening. Before sewing the sides. I made sure the opening was at the center.

• Continuing, I turned the sewed pattern to the good side of the fabric to get this rectangular shape

• Then i tied a thred around the center to hold it in place

• Next, I cut out a long strip using the sequin fabric, which will serve as the bow belt.

• I also sewed and turned all sides of the belt, then used it to hold the center of the bow.

And that completes the making process of this beautiful sequin bow, placed beautifully on the kimono.
