The Price Of Staying Online

Data is Life is not just a mere slogan in today's world, it is indeed a fact as most of our life's activities today revolve around the use of the internet, from earning, networking, communicating with business partners, friends, and loved ones, as a means of entertainment, staying updated... The list goes on, it is now part of our daily basic needs. The reason for the quest to find a reliable and affordable network provider.

The popular network providers in my country include MTN, Airtel, Glo, Etisalat etc out of the many I only use MTN and Airtel, but lately, I've been relying solely on Airtel because ever since the hike in data price across the nation, MTN took the apex position in draining its users of their life savings without mercy, though no doubt their network has the highest speed and coverage but it is meant for those that have the financial capability to stand the bill and not have a heart attack because that was how I was begining to feel before deciding to switch, I still use their sim though but majorly for receiving calls and nothing more for now, until maybe they reconsider their data price rate making it affordable for everyone irrespective of their financial stand and level.

Not that Airtel is any less cheap, but at least compared to MTN their prices are fair and their speed and availability are on a normal level especially when compared to the likes of Glo, and averagely it allows me to get things done daily, but there are some days they start their craze and go off for hours, that users may even doubt if their subscription has been exhausted, on these days, I am forced to go back to MTN until their service is restored, making me spend double on data subscription.

For now, I use the 3000 naira 10GB subscription for 7 days, the truth is that most times it doesn't even get to the 7 days before it gets exhausted, since I'm an online earner, I have no choice but to unsubscribe, and the circle continues, truthfully, it's financially draining compared to the rates I get same data plan before the hike in price, I wish I can afford unlimited plan just like I reas in Burlarj post, then I don't have to spend such expensive amount on data always, data is life, yeah but food is life too, at this point most people are using their feeding allowance to stay connected online, it's not funny anymore.

Airtel and even MTN have frustrated me on several occasions more than I can count, the one time I can never forget was when both networks went off on me at one of the biggest markets in Lagos, Oshodi Market, I had gone fabric shopping for my clients and also to get some sewing supplies, to make it worst, I forgot to carry my ATM card along, I was held for hours before I could make a transfer to the traders, it was one of the worst market experience I had. I wish our network provider could do better, at least give the best for the service we pay so much for.

Before I got my router, I used to do the Airtel 5g for 2000 naira, which is a weekly plan, but it doesn't even last for two days. That was when I realized I needed a better data plan.

You are right that the Airtel network becomes bad sometimes. I also have my MTN sim intact with a 3k monthly subscription in case Airtel decides to disappoint me.

So there is a 3k monthly plan on MTN, I'm sure it won't last more than a day if it were your normal go-to for online activities.

Actually it is better, it gives 20 to 25 give for the 3k and it last me for a week if i manage it well... it is smart data

Honestly, none of Nigerian networks is above disappointment and they can frustrate you if care is not taken. I have an Airtel sim but barely use it for browsing because of the network speed in my area.

I prefer MTN despite the high cost of their data at the moment.

It's best to choose what works for our area, instead of buying the seemingly cheaper data, become frustrated, and still spending more for satisfaction.

My guy, data is life oo. The day my Mtn network went off more than 2 hours is when I realized I can’t survive without data for too long.

I had a good laugh at this point ..lol
These people always makes us spend double . Even with the so called stability of MTN, they still mess up some days ...I have had double data subscription experiences and it's painful to keep spending so much on data .
Some people sef earn equivalent of the data they earn monthly nowadays and it's a concern !

If Airtel is working fine for u to a large extent , just use it

Airtel actually has affordable data prices compared to MTN. I have been buying 400 for 1.5gb on airtel for some days which is not possible on MTN

Now that most traders accept transfers, this is when these networks would always act messy when we are in the middle of transferring to pay for goods. I like Airtel because their data rates aren't too expensive but it drains so quickly. I still prefer Mtn, though they come with higher rate, they are good except on days when they'd frustrate someone.

Data is life no cap, when your data expires and you don't buy a other you will see how bored you'd get.

*121#... Smart data will give you these options ...4g daily plan for 400.... This will amount to 2800per week If you don't have it on your sim...
Try purchase a new sim on MTN pulse.

The amount we are paying for data subscriptions is really too much, but we have no choice because we really can't do without data
