The Power of Many Hands: Embracing Division of Labor

Have you ever been in a position where you felt you could handle a certain task all by yourself without the help of anyone, you are actually pretty good at what you do, but along the line, you discover that no matter how good you are, you would always need the help of others at some point for so many reasons, from saving you time and more productivity, also you get to relieve much stress which would have all been weighed on you, That's the power of Division of Labour.

I remember when I started my fashion business, with so much zeal and energy, I was equipped with my sewing skills, ready to give my best and all but one aspect I failed at was neglecting getting assistance, my best paid off because I kept getting more and more orders, but I was limited with my productivity being just me doing the whole job, from consultation to sourcing for materials, pattern drafting, cutting, sewing and finally fitting and delivery, it was a whole lot of work, that it affected my health badly, especially always having constant back pain, high bp and a total burnout on several occasions.

It wasn't until I had overdone myself and started delaying orders did I overlooked my quest for perfection wanting to do all myself and not trusting others with the job. My quest to get a good assistant stylist began, and not only did I get a stylist, but I also enrolled young girls who had a genuine interest in learning fashion design but didn't have the funds for a fashion school, since I already owned a fashion brand, it was easy for me to merge being a mentor to them, that way, I get to have peace when they work with me, knowing I impacted the with the right knowledge right from being a novice to fashion designing to their current level.

And I must say, it has been one of the best decisions I have taken, I needed that assistance and so far work has been made easier and I also get to be happy when I see them learning these lifelong skulls and putting it to good use, no more do I have to do all by myself, I now have time tor myself and family and most importantly, not risking my health trying to do all myself. Division of Labour amongst us has been yet the best decision.
