Returning from the market with half the supposed items I planned getting from the market, but reaching there, I discovered most of these items had doubled the price, This is the harsh reality we are forced to face in our country's current economic situation, like, how could the same items I bought just a week ago suddenly cost twice as much?

In my distressed state because I couldn't achieve all I planned out for the day, I couldn't help but rant about the whole distressing economic situation of my country like how did we get here, we used to spend coins to get basic food items in the past, but today , those coins have become worthless relics of the past, driven into extinction by the unrelenting forces of inflation. The same amount I took to the market would have in the past gotten food items that would serve a family for a couple of months, but today, it won't even last up to a week.

This hardship in the country has taken away the love in the land, insecurity is on the rise because people think legitimate ways of earning don't pay again. As a young girl, I remember my mum never had any reason for locks on her door, she could leave for the market or church leaving her doors open without any fear or worry, and come back to meet everything intact in the house, but these days we spend huge money on locks, security alarms and some even go as far as hiring security operatives, still we don't feel safe because the men of the underworld can strike anytime.

To make it worse, we have become enemies of each other, and everyone cares for none other than themselves, blaming it on trying to survive, why should you kidnap your neighbour because you are trying to survive, as a trader, you add extra charges to the normal price of an item because you are trying to survive, employers stealing from the company they work at still for the same reason, as the leader of the country, you were voted in after making many promises, the people look up to you to bring their hope to reality, but as soon as they attain office, they become selfish and only look for ways to loot and drain the economy caring only about their unborn generation, what about the country you promised to lead to the promised land? This is so sad, and the main reason why we face all these issues today is because there is no more love in the land, you wouldn't hurt those you love right? The biggest commandment "Love your neighbours as thyself" has been thrown into the muds and the consequences are what we face today.

If there is anything the world needs today, it is Love, because the lack of it is the evil deeds we see going around us today from the comic crises, to insecurity, etc but when love is restored in each heart, there will be a positive change.

love cultivates a sense of empathy and understanding, enabling us to see situations from multiple perspectives and approach challenges with compassion and wisdom. Rather than resorting to violence, exploitation, or other harmful means to address economic struggles, a society grounded in love would seek collaborative solutions, where the needs of all are taken into consideration, and burdens are shared equally.

The restoration of love would also have a profound impact on leadership and governance. Leaders who truly love their people would be driven by a genuine desire to serve and uplift the country, rather than being motivated by personal gain or ambition. They would prioritize transparent and accountable governance, ensuring that resources are allocated fairly and in a manner that benefits the greatest number of people. Trust and open communication between leaders and citizens would flourish, as both parties would recognize their shared stake in the well-being of the nation.
