A lovely weekend to you all, dear creative Hivers.hope you are having a restful weekend.

Have you ever gotten yourself thrift clothing that you just couldn't move past when you spotted it at the market, though it might not meet your likeness to the fullest probably due to some setbacks or design in the clothing, you knew all it just needed is a little transformation with your DIY/Sewing skills to meet your desire. I've been met with such cases on several occasions, in the past, when I never knew about DIY, I just walked past feeling down like there was nothing I could do to transform the dress, but not anymore.

And that's the story of this beautiful armless waterfall jacket I got on my last market trip to get some sewing supplies, I saw this waterfall jacket displayed outside a thrift store, at first I wanted to move past it because it was armless, and for me, I would have preferred one with sleeves, as the current weather condition is a bit cold,

I wouldn't want to buy this jacket and leave it for long in the wardrobe, so I went ahead to feel the texture of the fabric, it had a cotton look but a wooly feel, and felt very gentle on the skin, without thinking too much, I knew I had fell in love with the fabric texture of the jacket, as for the transformation I want,

thankfully I had my sewing skills to make that happen.

So today, I made that transformation, first, I started by placing the jacket in folds,

Determining the new length I wanted for the jacket, I traced it with my chalk and then trimmed it out with my scissors.

Using the cut-out pieces, I placed them in four folds, drafted them, and cut out an elbow-length sleeve.

This is how it looks when opened.

Finally, I sewed the sleeves around both armholes of the dress and folded the cut-out hem.

Here is the transformed new look. Which will provide me with more warmth, and I can also pair it with my armless dress.

I'm so happy with the final look of this DIY sewing project.

Thank you for reading♥️♥️
