If you are a regular reader of my blog, I'm sure by now you already know what Glorydee does aside being a hive blogger, as I don't resist showing off my skill here on the blockchain, especially in the #needleworkmonday community, well for those who don't, I am a professional Fashion designer, in other words, and as my motto would read, I am dedicated into styling women and young girls, making them look elegant, trendy, gorgeous and sophisticated in my designs.

I'm also that go-to person for fashion-related consultation, imagine a bride who has no clue about the best wedding dress style, fabric, and design that fits her body shape and size, also having her bridal trail looking elegant on her big day, my job is to give a solution to all of that as not everyone is skilled with the fashion sense, so my skill is readily available to give a satisfactory result. From consultation, sourcing of fabric, fashion illustration, the making process, and down right to styling and fitting are all part of my job details.

It's a lot of work no doubt, time-consuming, and can be very hectic some days, but it's my passion and I love what I do, thinking about it, my job description covers one of the basic needs of life, aside, food and shelter, clothing is also essential for all humans, as no one wants to be caught wandering naked whether in your homes, offices, market, schools, etc unless of course when you visit the bathroom. I might not be a doctor who saves lives, but as a doctor serves the purpose of saving lives, my job as a fashion designer also serves the purpose of making the society feel protected from the harsh weather condition, also new clothes make people feel good and confident about themselves, I've even heard some people say their outfit gained them recognition and help at some point in their lives. So yes, Fashion design plays a very vital role in the society.

Would I ever change what I do If I had the chance?

A big NO! Fashion designing has evolved into a very lucrative business these days if you are well knowledgeable about the business aspect of it, gone are those days when fashion designing jobs were looked down upon as jobs that involved passion without pay, just so you know, the richest woman in Nigeria is also into the fashion business, rather than change what I do, what I look forward to is growth, in other words, upgrade, my dream as a fashion designer is not just to make pretty and elegant dresses, but to also pass down that knowledge to upcoming designers In my society, I dream to own a fashion school someday, and I know this dream Is achievable as I keep on giving the best and constantly upgrading my skill, because in my line of work, learning never stops. stops. There's always a new trend, technique, or emerging style to stay on top of. The fashion world is constantly evolving, which is what makes it such an exciting industry.

That constant evolution and creative opportunity are two of the aspects I love most about being a fashion designer. Yes, the work can be intense at times. But at the end of the day, I get to be creative and make people look and feel amazing. What could be better than that? The satisfaction written on my client's faces is all the satisfaction I need to keep thriving in this profession of mine.

When I look back on how I started my fashion journey, though it wasn't my initial plan, but opportunity presented itself, and I didn't waste any time grabbing it, I have no regrets about the career path I've chosen, fashion design makes me happy. It allows me to blend my creative talents with my entrepreneurial spirit. It's definitely not just a job for me, it's a way of life that I feel blessed to have as my life's work.
