Glittering deceptions in relationships, don't fall for them
Everyone seems rich on the internet these days, but behind the scenes, most are struggling to make ends meet. The facade of success can be misleading, and it's important to remember that most people online are just like you, trying to make it through the daily hustle. The same goes for the offline world, The "fake it till you make It" quote has been misquoted and acted by some individuals that they forget who they really are, also giving a wrong impression to some gullible ones who are after looks in other words, glitters.

As young girls, we were taught to be hardworking and never think of depending on anyone for our needs, and also to be contented with what have, this home training goes a long way in our lives especially when suitors start coming for our hand in marriage, no one wants to suffer no doubt but its better for a man to show his real self and let a lady like him for who he is rather than pretend to be who he is not.
One particular event in my life that stood out and made me believe more in the statement that all that glitters are not gold was when a man named Mr. Richard would always come to our hostel in school with his expensive clothing, car more like looking for whom to devour ( a babe to take home) the first time I met him was on my way to class, he asked for my number and volunteered to drop me at the department block I was headed, I turned him down and walked to my destination, not knowing that he tailed me, and even back to my hostel. No matter how hard he tried, I was never moved because something felt fishy about him. He is young and handsome no doubt, but when my guts warn me of something it most of the time ends up being true so I stayed clear of him. Even when some of my roommates urged me to just date him and enjoy his money, I declined. Eventually, one of them started dating him, on their first date, she couldn't stop talking about how big his mansion is which is very suspicious for a young guy like him, but no, she didn't see any of that and got carried away, later, she started complaining that the only thing she enjoyed as his girlfriend was being carried in a luxurious car and whenever she asks Richard for money, he kept saying he invested a huge some in his unknown business and will be getting a huge profit soon, she should be patient, that was how my roommate got used the whole 3 month of their realtionship, she literally buys food stuffs and take to the guys house to cook for him, waiting for the huge profit, until when the real owner of the house and car came back from outside the country with his family, that was when the truth got unfolded that Mr Richard was just a relative, probably even not, brought in to work as a guard to take care of their property while they were away and he has tricked and used so many other gullible girls who wanted an already made man into thinking he was the real owner. My roommate was devasted when she found out and out of shame went to stay in another coursemate's room for some time to avoid being mocked for her foolishness.
This very incident more than ever before made me not trust anyone superficially until I get to know the real them, and also selecting a partner just because he looks rich shouldn't be any lady's number one spec in a man, get to know what he really does for a living, then his character also there are some very hardworking guys out there who don't look rich now but have the prospect of becoming successful in the nearest future. No matter how hardworking and kind they are, a partner should still be selected based on compatibility. Be sure to find someone who shares your values and interests, and who you can trust and rely on. A good relationship is built on mutual respect and understanding, and lastly, ladies should work on becoming successful themselves and this itself will make them not fall into scam relationships like the incident described above, after all, we attract our own kind.
This still happens till date and many ladies who are moved by material things have been preyed on.
Yes it does sadly, I hope they get wiser.
My fiance always said everyone is rich online and it took me a long time before I realized it. There are lots of fake people out there and it's really annoying to see people pretending to be what they are not.
There are many of Mr. Richard out there who lure girls with audio wealth but your instincts and home training prevented you from falling victim of his lies.
She is saying the truth, people mostly show their best moments, hence, why we think they are all rich.
My instinct mostly never disappoints, and showing off has never been a something that impresses me.
Oh my ghost! @glorydee you must save yourself from such sort of Guys who pretend what they are not. I hope your friend now came to realize all things are not same what they pretend. We should be very careful in relationships about these things.
Lol, I did and I think she learned her lesson the hard way.
The guy is a crook. He showed a cat a fish to entice the cat to do its bidding whereas the fish doesn't belong to him and the cat never had a taste. Getting what he needed from the cat? That might have probably happened.
Lucky you @glorydee that you dodged the bullet.
Lol, this your description is on a whole new level, quite entertaining too. I guess I'm lucky then.
This fake men are everywhere on the internet. Wolfs in sheep clothing. Ladies should be independent and not a liability and also learn to be contended.
Exactly, if ladies are not looking for manna from somewhere else, they won't be easily enticed. Thanks for the share @ladyfoth

Lady should be independent and also learn how to be contented with what they have.
We ladies we have to be very careful
Sure sis, you got the point.
Well, that's a good lesson to be learnt actually, I would say it serve her right but who don't want soft life ? No one....the sad thing people still fall victim for this
Girls fall for even worst cases, like some into rituals den.

I think your friend deserves the deception. She became greedy and that brings the result. I think she never loved that person, she loved the money of the person. So I feel it's a good thing that happened with her. Sorry if my word hurts you.
