Getting ready for a fun weekend with sewmates with my stunning asymmetric blouse
Happy weekend dear friends on Hive, it's another favorite time of the week, when some of us get to take a break from work, having a relaxing and fun weekend is what I feel everyone should take advantage of, as all work without play.... You already know what completes that statement.

Talking about fun, I and some of my sewmates/ friends are set to have a hang-out tomorrow, it has been long, almost a year since we had our last one, and it's always fun hanging out with friends you share a common interest with, to even think that most of us actually met online through a Facebook page whose admin started as a fashion illustrator, her love and selflessness, helping newbies in fashion, has motivated most of us till this moment, the reason I make sure not to miss this annually event, even my introverted nature can't stop me, as there is so much benefit, being around this amazing designers offers.

The dress code, this time happened to be a simple top and jeans, a sort of casual look, our admin is always fond of this, putting everyone on their toes, thankfully she made it easier for us, as our country's current economy, is not even favorable for any extravagant spending, in her words, "put on a blouse made by you that would turn heads lol, she can be so dramatic, but we all know it's coming from a place of love and care.
For me, I wanted something simple, that would of course, turn heads, even though this hang out has been announced a few weeks back, it took me until today to decide on what to make, the life of a designer, always making their dress 24 hours to the event, I'm sure I'm not the only one guilty of this. I decided to make a simple asymmetric neckline and hemline blouse, because it's unique, and beautiful and can easily fit both casual and formal gatherings, imagine pairing this sophisticated blouse with a plain black penciled skirt or pants, so this is the turn head blouse I made with a unique sewing pattern known as slash and spread method.
Let's get right into the making process then.

- I started by drafting on paper how I wanted the front pattern to be, the asymmetric details included, then I divided the front pattern with a curve, also cutting out the side dart.

- I slashed one part of the cutout pattern before transferring it to the wine-colored crepe fabric used

- I also cut out the other side of the pattern, then gathered the slashed and spread part, before joining them together.

*I used a basic back pattern with high rounded neckline.

- Here, I made sure to turn both front and back with their lining part and sewed a zipper to the back part.

- Continuing, I joined both front and back by the sides

- Finally, I drafted a simple basic sleeve, which I sewed around both armholes.

My eye-catching blouse is ready, very demure lol, and I love it, can't wait to adorn this beauty to the hang out with my sewmates, and also get to see what they come up with.
Thank you for reading.❤❤
