Gambling, a threat to financial freedom
It's no new thing that everyone wants to succeed, breaking free from the shackles of financial constraints, a better word-poverty, we all want to be financially free and live a comfortable life, my country people usually refer to as 'the soft lifestyle' well, while some of know that to set ourselves free, we have no choice than to go through the pains and struggle of developing ourselves, then provide a solution to the world through our creative talent, job or businesses to set ourselves free, some other people would rather chose to follow the short route, and one of which happens to be gambling.
If there is one act I have seen ruin lives and families, it is gambling, trust me, I've witnessed a mother regret the day she gave birth to her son due to his addictive gambling nature, he was so addicted that he sold the only land left of his deceased father all for the sake of gambling, and it was the. The only asset left of his late father, as a first son, he was handed rights to the land, only for him to sell and squander millions on gambling, with the unsure hope of making it big, rendering his family in more sadness, it is strange that any non-gambler would want it legalized, only gamblers would want this, because of the same reason they got addicted on the first place, hoping on the uncertainty which doesn't require much work to make a big break.
But life has taught us over and over again that attaining good things doesn't work that way, in fact, when it's too good to be true, it's almost like likely a lie, and putting your life on the line of luck is purely irrational, yea, they may have been some few wins in the past, if observed well, you will notice that it isn't always that big to satisfy your basic needs for a long while, and for those who eventually make that big win, sadly, most of them still use their win to gamble hoping for bigger loot, the reason why some refer to gambling as a spirit, you don't stop at one, it lures you with one little win to exhaust your life savings and even go the extra mile of borrowing just to satisfy that addiction. So yes, gambling should be banned, made illegal, anyhow you want to put it, so people would focus on a better way to make money, become creative, improve their talent, think of great business ideas, and implement them, rather than staying lazy, wasting their time on following an endless pit in the name of gambling.
Gambling has done more harm to man than good, so it doesn't deserve the chance to be considered. At least let's save the future generation who are even most likely to want to follow the shorter route to success and choose a better creative option like making the best use of the online world to earn through content creation, influencing, singing, etc all of which require effort and not just laying around without a job waiting to hit a jackpot.

If one starts gambling, hoping to make it big and live the soft life, they might end up frustrated and in debt. Gambling has been the bane of many.
Exactly, gambling shouldn't be a path followed in the hopes of financial freedom.
It is true that lust for money and urge for financial stability compels us to adopt paths that look lucrative but we cannot get that through shortcuts.
Gambling often seen as life changing becomes life destructor. A gambler alwas loses . Gambling doesn’t earn you money . The net result will always be a loss
That's right, the road of gambling would most likely lead to loss.
Gambling is one of the issues we have in the world. Father's instead of saving to grow their families, the young instead of learning better skills and channel their money into them, they end up doing give away to gambling.
I am not so much concerned about the boy in your story selling the asset but using it for gambling is what I am think pondering over. What height of madness was that?
That's the madness of gambling
Gambling is very addictive and I've seen it ruin so many people yet it has made some rich.
It's unfortunate that most people don't know when to stop
More lives are ruined than made
