DIY | Let's Make a Paper Shirt
Hello Hive!
Hope you are having a good day, well my day is just getting started but it feels like I've had a long day already, it's the holiday season which means the children are at home now, so no quiet and calm like I am used to enjoying when they are away at school and I get enough time to concentrate on my work without any distraction, just when I thought they would sleep for long since they don't have to get up early to prepare for school, I thought so wrong, as they woke up even earlier than me, and they would do if it was a school day, poor me didn't get the much-needed rest neither is the day looking like I would get enough work done.
So I had no choice but to keep them busy, by channeling their energy into something creative, thanks to the #julyinleo monthly topics for today, I got the perfect idea, making paper crafts, so I taught them some paper crafts I learned as a child, I can't even remember the last time I did this, it was so much fun bonding with the children and ao far this activity has got them hooked trying to perfect theirs. Their favourite is the paper shirt. so I thought to share the making process with us.
Without further ado, let's get right into the making process of a paper shirt, it is a very easy DIY craft you can teach your little ones as well and get them to be creative.
Making Process
- All you need is just a rectangular piece of A4 paper or any size of your choice.
- Next, fold the paper by the sides to get the middle line.
- Then you open it up again after you've successfully made the middle line, now you fold both sides, stopping at that middle line.
- Next, you fold both sides at one end to form a triangular shape
- Moving on, turn the paper to the other side and fold a bit of the other edge
- turn it to the other side again, concentrating on the edge you just folded, this time make small triangles with their ends pointing at each other.
- Finally, fold the paper in half, letting the edge stop exactly at the pointed triangle ends, carefully, bring out the edge, I guess you can already see it forming a collar, remember the two bigger triangles we folded, those are the sleeves.
Congrats, if you followed the steps carefully and made yours too, how did you find the making process? Easy right? If you have any questions, I would be glad to answer them. And if you've got kids, this is a perfect activity to get them busy this holiday season.
