DIY Delight | A Cute Jumpsuit For My Niece
Hello, lovely creatives, I hope you are all having a good day. We've got a very nice and warm weather today, making the day perfect for a DIY sewing project, but I didn't make anything for myself, rather I made a cute easy-to-make jumpsuit for my little niece whom I will be paying as visit soon.
I'm not sure if I'm the only one that often feels awkward visiting someone, either a relative or a friend empty handed, especially if it's been a while, I believe going with a gift no matter how how little, especially the ones made with our hands shows how much we miss and care about them. And this very reason inspired me to make a jumpsuit for my little niece.
I decided to make an armless breathable jumpsuit, suitable for the current hot weather, something she could wear and play with, and also show off her aunt's design.
I made this jumpsuit using about a meter of fabric I got from the fabric store for $1, I feel this price is fair as there are days when it would have been sold for more.
Without further ado, let's get right into the making process.
Materials Used*
- Soft crepe fabric
- Matching coloured thread
Cutting And Sewing Process
- I started by drafting and cutting out the upper bodice part of the jumpsuit, adding enough ease allowance because children grow so fast, and I want her to be able to wear her jumpsuit for a long time without it becoming undersized.
- Next, I cut out the lower part of the jumpsuit, which is a trouser pattern, and both front and back are equal.
- Continuing, I sewed in a packet to the two center front, and joined the front and back by the shoulder.
- Next, I cut out these 1.5-inch-wide strips and used them to pipe the armhole and neckline area neatly.
- Moving on, I joined the trouser pattern at the crotch area for both the front and back.
- Then proceeded to join them to the upper bodice pattern.
- Finally, I joined the two sides of the jumpsuit and hemmed the trouser base neatly. I would be adding buttons to the front opening.
That completes the making process of this cute jumpsuit for my niece. Looking forward to seeing her tomorrow and hope it fits just nicely.

I also feel bad to visit to relatives house empty handed and so you are not the only one. I think in our place, most people are like that, and it has already become a kind of tradition for us.
And the jumpsuit seems good, and it was a generous gift from your side.

This jumpsuit is adorable. The fabric choice and neat finishing really make it stand out. Great job.

Thank you for you support and encouragement.💕
I havs this exact same fabric and has been looking for inspiration on what to sew with it. Only that jumpsuit is difficult to pull off of we desire to use the restroom.
This is pretty and calling me.
Well done and thanks for sharing
The jumpsuit is a very comfortable and versatile garment, because by simply putting on a blazer and heels we can give it a more formal character, or use it with more casual footwear.
Te felicito es una excelente confección.
Sure, it is. That's a wonderful styling tip, Thanks for stopping by.💕💕
