Dieting or Exercise: Finding the Right Balance for a Healthier You
How do you maintain your shape, even after birthing two kids? This is one question I get too often, especially as a fashion designer who meets women of different ages and sizes. In my line of business, weight loss and gain is one topic that women are often concerned about, mostly losing the weight and whenever I mention about even gaining more weight myself I'm being looked at like one alien of a woman who isn't lucky to have the body I have, lol, if course I'm proud of myself, I love my body and yes I know adding a bit of weight still puts me on a healthy weight range for my age, but guess what, no matter how hard I try, I still manage to maintain same healthy weight.
When it comes to staying in shape and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, there has always been an age-long debate about whether dieting or exercise is the right way to go, is it about focusing on controlling what we eat, or prioritizing our physical activity? For me, I get asked the same question, what's my secret the truth is that for me it's a lifestyle and more genetic because I don't diet, but eat healthy, although I tend to skip my meals sometimes, especially during a busy day at work, and though I don't go to the gym, I can say my day to day activities helps keep me. Active and burn calories so therefore, it's a combination of both.
What we put into our bodies plays an important role in our overall health and weight management. I've also seen some of my clients who managed to lose weight just by dieting and some others who it didn't work for them, because even if they stay committed for some months or weeks, they often end up slacking in their dieting routine with the excuse that they can't kill their self with hungry in the name of staying in shape.
On the other hand, I believe every person whether looking to maintain a healthy shape or not should involve themselves with physical regular exercise as it not only helps us burn calories but also offers a wide range of physical and mental health benefits. Recently, an aunt of mine who recently recovered from a serious ailment has been advised to involve herself in regular exercise even in her 50's so she can maintain her health and don't fall sick often. You should see how seriously she took this exercise, there is a saying that we don't value what we have until we lose or almost on the verge of losing it. This is someone who would usually sit at a place all day as she has workers who do everything for her, but now she has realized that taking care of her health is her duty to take up.
Last, but not least, it is perhaps mutual that the best system is one that you can reorder daily and find fulfilling. Be sure of which diets and exercise to apply to ensure that you get the best results. First, time yourself and do not rush into curing, next remember to have plenty of patience with yourself, third the best thing is to have small targets to aim for and not be too concerned with getting it perfectly right. Therefore, it is recommended that anyone who wants a healthy life should look for a balance to the right diet and exercise.
