Cute Ankara puffy blouse for my little one
Hello dear lovely creators on Hive, I hope you are all having a pleasant day, mine has been going smoothly so far as I just finished putting another sewing project to completion.
This time, I made a cute puffy blouse for my daughter out of the ankara fabric I was recently gifted. Yesterday, I shared with us about the V-yoke ruffle blouse I made myself and since I still had enough fabric left and want to make the best use of this beautiful gift, I thought matching with my daughters would be a good idea. Since I already made a blouse for myself, making a cute one for them seems just right.
I rushed my house chores this morning after dropping them at school so as to get started and also have time to read later since my exam date is closing in. I would also like us to wear this matching blouse to church on Sunday.
Looking forward to seeing my daughters' reactions when they come back from school later this afternoon.
The design of this beautiful blouse is more like an off-shoulder blouse with elastic passed around the sleeves and chest area and also around the hem of the blouse, giving it a puffy effect. It is very easy to make and didn't take as much time as expected. It's so cute I can't resist making a matching pant, shorts, or flare skirt to make it a complete two-piece set, still trying to decide on that, maybe you can help me pick one.
Materials Used
- Ankara fabric
- Elastic
- Thread
Cutting And Sewing Process
- First, I drafted the bodice pattern, making a straight cut along the chest area and also cutting out the armhole area, leaving enough seam and ease allowance.
- Then I cut out the sleeve pattern as well,
- Continuing, I joined both sleeves to both armholes of the blouse for both the front and back.
- Then I folded around the chest area which is also joined to the sleeves, creating a case for the elastic.
- I also fold and hem the sleeve and blouse, creating a case around the blouse as well.
- Finally, I passed an elastic that measures the same as round her shoulder measurement into the casing created above the blouse.
The second elastic which measures same as her waist around the blouse hem or below. And that completes the making process of this cute puffy blouse.
