Creative Sunday | DIY, Seamless Bubu Dress
Happy Sunday dear Hivers, I hope you are all having a relaxing weekend as we prepare for the new work week, l. It's another exciting edition of the Hive Learners Creative Sunday, in case you are coming across this initiative for the first time, Creative Sunday is where we share our creative talent or passion and also get to learn from others.
For my entry today, I will be sharing with us how I made a side seamless all-white dress, most percentage of the clothes we wear all have side seams, what if U tell you there is a creative way we can make a Bubu dress, known as the seamless cowl dress without the side seams, and it will turn out as beautiful as a dress with seams.
For the making of the dress, the materials used are
Liquid Mikado fabric(you can make use of any fabric of your choice)
Matching colored thread
And of course, my sewing machine.
Cutting And Sewing Process
- I made use of 3 yards of fabric, first process was to fold the fabric into two, which equals one and a half yards on both folds.
on one folded end, I cut out a back neckline of 3.5 inches width and 2 inches depth
on the other open end, I cut out a slanted line, also known as bias cut to 30 inches wireless of the hem side, which I also curved from the middle, the side will serve as the front of the dress.
- Placing the dress by the front now, I cut out the excess at the top and cut out the V front neckline
Next, I cut out the facing for both the front and back neckline which I used in turning them in neatly, after joining the front and shoulder area.
To add extra details, I applied this flower pattern rhinestone at the front of the dress and also folded hemmed it neatly.
And that completes the making process of this bubu dress, simple and fast to make without much stress.
