It's another exciting edition of the Hive learner's creative Sunday, and as usual, I've got an easy DIY sewing tutorial to share with you all.

This time I made a simple A-line blouse, note that the same process can be used to achieve a sleeveless A-line dress as well.

I've had this leftover fabric for quite a while and thought to put it to good use today, making this beautiful A-line dress for my daughter. At first, I wasn't sure of what to make with this little leftover piece, but after several thoughts and trials in my mind, this A-line blouse fit just right.

Materials used

Cutting And Sewing Process

  • I started by putting the fabric on one fold by the side at first, and proceeded to fold it again in bias or right angle triangle form, then I drafted the voice of the A-line on the folded fabric using her measurement.

  • Next, I cut out this bias strip which I used to pipe the neckline of the front and back blouse pattern, note that, the front and back patterns are the same.

  • Continuing, I joined the front and back by the shoulders and proceeded to pipe the armhole areas as well neatly for a cleaner finish

  • Moving on, I joined the blouse by the sides using about 3-quarter-inch seam.

  • I also hemmed the base of the blouse neatly, and that completes the making process of the A-line blouse.

So easy to make and it took me less than an hour to get it done.
