Happy Sunday, dear Hivers, hope you are all having a lovely weekend.

It's another exciting edition of the Hive learners' creative Sunday, where we get to share our creative side and also get to learn from others as well. As usual, I will be sharing with us one of my sewing projects, and this time I made a fitted pair of pants/trousers.

If you have ever wondered how trousers are made, then you are in the right place. Stay tuned as I take you on this pants sewing process. It's easy to make, even for beginners in sewing.

I had previously made a skirt for my mum and still had enough fabric left, so I decided to make a matching colour pair of trousers for her as well, which she absolutely appreciated. So without further ado, let's get right into the making process.

Materials Used

  • Crepe fabric

  • Zipper

  • Matching coloured thread

Cutting And Sewing Process

IMG_20250823_165801_413.jpg

  • I started by drafting the front pattern, cutting out the waist, hip, crotch and knee and trouser length.

  • Here, I cut out the drafted pattern, putting a front zipper flap around the center front.

  • Next, I extended the front pattern to cut the back, as all the seam allowance goes to the back of the trousers.

  • I also cut out the pocket pattern

  • Continuing, I sewed the pockets to the sides of the front, and also sewed in the zipper, and joined the crotch area.

  • I also joined the crotch area of the back trouser pattern

  • Next, I joined the sides and the inseam area IMG_20250824_180334_620.jpg

  • Finally, I sewed the waistband around the waist of the trouser, and that completes the making process of this trouser.

I love the colour combination, it looks nice.

I don't really know how to sew but I love this, you made it well detailed that a learner like me can try and probably get it.
