Greetings dear Hivers, hope you are all enjoying the weekend wherever you are, The weekends are meant for fun and relaxation, so make sure to make the best of it today.

It's another exciting edition of the Hive Learners creative Sunday and as usual, I will be sharing with us one of my recent DIY sewing projects, also a part of what makes the weekend is preparing your mind for the week ahead and also seeing how things were made from scratch, even different from your scope, kind of enrich us with more knowledge, and as they say, no knowledge goes to waste, so stay glued to this post.

This time, I designed a Caribbean or what some people refer to as a bohemian dress, some even call it a 3-step flare dress, but the first name is my favorite of them all, you can make your choice too, as long as it still has the same design. It's the Christmas season, and it's common to have different events have a color dress code this season to experience the joy of Christmas.

In my local church, we would be having a Christmas Carol service next Sunday and an all-white dress code was chosen as the color of the day, my sister asked that I make her this beautiful dress for the upcoming event, and this dress also matches the holiday vibe, after all, it's a Bohemian dress, and I would be sharing the making process with us.

Materials used

  • White cotton fabric
  • matching white colored thread

To make this dress, the first thing I did was draft and cut out the upper side of the dress, it's a shirt-like pattern above, the front has two pattern pieces,

While the back is just one pattern piece

I joined both the front and back by the shoulders, before joining by the sides

  • Next, I cut out the collar patterns, and turned them, before sewing them around the neckline.

  • For the lower parts of the dress, I cut out three strips of fabric, dividing the remaining length by three steps, and each strip is double the other as it flows down.

Finally, I joined the three-step flare to the upper waist of the dress, I still have yet to decide on the sleeve styling, should I leave it as a sleeveless dress, I'm also thinking maybe puffy or straight sleeve, which would you rather choose for this dress style? I would love to know your choice.

Would you love to have a dress like this for the females and where would you rock it to?

That's all for today's edition, do enjoy the rest of the weekend, and don't forget to make the best of it, wishing you a blessed new week ahead.

Thank you for reading.❤❤
