Cine TV Contest | A Childhood Classic: Revisiting Disney's Cinderella
Disney is one entertainment media that added cherished memories to our childhood days, it's a wonder that even to date they still keep up making fun and cherished memories not only for children but for adults as well, especially the ones that love animated movies.
I remember always concluding if a movie would be interesting and worth my viewing time just by seeing the media production studio, and one media studio production that keeps me feeling relaxed for a good movie time is Warner Disney Studios, just seeing their intro gives me pure joy, which I believe emanated from years of consuming quality animated movies by them, which we rather refer to as cartoon then.
It's hard to pick a favorite movie produced by Disney, but after much thought and reflection, I can't help but allow the classic Cinderella to take the lead for me, this is because I've grown up watching different versions of Cinderella even produced by same Disney, and all the time it keeps me hook, yea, I've watched Cinderella many times than I can count, that the storyline has etched in my head.
A girl who grew up with her stepmom and sisters, but was used more like a slave in the house, and didn't have a good dress worthy of attending the Prince ball as all her dresses were shabby and rags, she was also made fun of by step sister and was usually maltreated.
Luckily for her, her godmother saves the day, changing her rags to a beautiful, magical dress and glass shoes using magic, but there is an instruction to follow, she must leave the ball before midnight because that is how long the magic of the dresses and total makeover last.
My favorite part of this movie was how her dress, or maybe her beauty, made her stand out in the crowd and captivated the prince's attention with what other ladies were looking forward to for themselves, he led her to the dance floor, the power of a makeover, because we can't ignore the fact that she would have been bounced at the entrance if not for the magical makeover, but of course, she was unknown. Even her stepsisters and mother couldn't recognize her in that dress.
Her dance with the prince must have been so enchanted that she lost track of time the second time, making her lose one of her glass shoes in her haste to leave the ball before the magic wore off.
Although I always wondered why the lost glass shoe didn't disappear, I guess it was for the purpose it serves, a guide to its true owner, this is another part of the Cinderella story that made me wonder too, because how come in the whole town no other lady had same shoe size as Cinderella, still, doesn't make me like the Cinderella story less.
The prince finally found the lady who stole his heart after the dance through her shoe, and Cinderella's life changed thereafter, a typical Happily ever after story Disney is known for.
Still, a good storyline for kids to watch today, I downloaded Cinderella on my kids' tablets and it's one of their favorite animated movies as well, it's even more satisfying that it is the same Cinderella I watched as a kid.
My rating for Cinderella would be an 8/10 because it's still captivating as ever, the little minus is that I'm an adult now and see so many clauses that don't add up, still it remains a timeless piece and worth watching if you haven't which I doubt, maybe download it for your kids as well let them also have a piece of your cherished childhood memory.
Thank you for reading. ❤❤

I didn’t really like the movie much it felt too slow for me. But my sister’s obsessed with it, especially the fairy godmother’s magic. It’s crazy how we see it so differently.
I also feel girls love Cinderella more because it's about a female character, the dress, and magic, love, etc all of which girls fancy
Yes, I think so too.
Wow. What a captivating disney movie. I think I've watched something similar but it was these Igbo movies. Lol
I actually love the help of her godmother and she won the show. Nice review 👌
We agree on the taste for this beautiful classic, and while I was reading you, I remembered that dance with her prince and her light blue dress that made her stand out among all the maidens present. 🌷💖
