Building a Brand: Your Path to Distinction and Success
I was listening to one of my favorite radio programs early hours of the morning while waiting for the Cryptoholics space to start in about 2 hours, I love listening to the show because the presenter popularly known as crazy love doctor has a captivating and unique way of keeping his listeners glued and entertained, even though his program usually airs at the wee hours when most people should be on their bee, I can't count the number of times I've listened to his show and every night/early morning, his voice follows me to the dream world, and on days I need to dork till daybreak, as a fashion designer, my job keeps me very busy, especially during the festive season, So I make dire to stay up all night listening to crazy love doctor while working.

Now my focus which inspired today's write-up was when a caller called in and reported another radio station that had him almost scammed because they copied the original Love Doctor program, his name, his theme song, and almost sounded like him, to make it worst, they aired the same time he was airing, the caller is another fan of crazy love doctor's program, just like me, he said it took him about 30 minutes into the show for him to discover he was listening to a photocopy and had to recheck his dial on the radio. This is what I call branding Imagine the real Crazy Love Doctor didn't create a brand for himself, it is a show that educates people about their relationship life, and personal growth and helps those looking for a spouse connect with each other, over the years, he has created a brand for himself, the way he talks, his chosen then song, and how direct he can be when giving out advice, it is a good show, the more reason someone felt they could recreate it, without minding that it is against the rule to steal or plagiarize someone's idea, what they fail to know is that no matter how hard they try, a photocopy cannot be like the original, and trying to cash out from someone's Idea instead of coming up with yours will only leave you beneath the person you try to copy.
The same thing applies to whatever career path or business we have chosen to do, and I will be highlighting to us some important benefits of creating a brand for ourselves, even as a blogger here on Hive, do you know that we also need to be branded? Stay tuned...
What is Branding?
In simple words, it is your identity, Branding is the continuous process of identifying, creating, and managing all actions and perceptions in your consumer's or investor's mind concerning you and your business
1 Branding increases your reputation
Have you ever gone to a store and often requested for a particular brand of product, not because there is no other company producing the same product, but because this particular brand is well known and have built its reputation over the years, that even when there are new products offering same service and might be even better, but because of that brand they've created, they are mostly more costly than other less known brands, still they sell more, that"s the power of branding, it is necessary for us as businessmen/ women no matter how small we start in a business, we must make sure to try as much as possible to build our brand making sure we don't settle for less, and instead improve as time goes on.
2 A Brand has it easy with referrals
In this age and time, where most people are likely to check for reviews before purchasing, either online or physically through friends and family, a branded item or service that gives customers the satisfaction they need is easily remembered for referrals and positive reviews, therefore, we can say, your brand also holds a strong marketing value if it performs giving ultimate satisfaction, it is easily remembered, and it"s awareness and popularity grows over time before you know it, it becomes a household name.
3 Brand stays on top of its competitors
When the caller in my introduction made the complaint about the impostor of the crazy love doctor, the confidence in his reply showed he hadn't faltered one bit, because he believes in his content, consumer base (fan in this instance) and his work which he been building over time cannot suddenly push him off the leaderboard of his game, and his simple reply was Photocopy cannot be like the original, this is the confidence in the brand he has built over the years, as long as you are confident in your work and brand, no matter the competition that shows face, you are not moved because you have put in the hard work in your content.
In essence, branding is a safeguard, a reputation booster, and a catalyst for growth. Whether in the realm of radio, fashion design, or even as bloggers here on Hive, the call to action is clear, let's invest in building our brand. It is the key to standing out, earning trust, and confidently facing any competition that may arise. As we continue this journey, may our brands become not just labels but lasting impressions etched into the minds of those we serve.
