Weekend full of harvest
Hello everyone,
Another wonderful weekend to you all.
We are here again it is the season of harvest On a day late last year I thought of planting a yam , which I had bought in the local market. Today, I have waked up feeling very happy that my decision has paid off because I’ve harvested yams.
I recall the time when I tenderly placed the yam head in the backyard intending it to become new plant. I took my time to nurture it just as any plant needs water and sunlight in its growing period. When weeks were getting into months the small plant growing from the yam tuber started sprouting and growing well, indicating that it was a terminal yam.
I was happy today when I hunted for the yams in the soil to find out how these plants had developed. The yams were big, fresh and many of them, these being the fruits of my labor that had gone into the plant.
This has been a good time to learn and have a personal feel of how useful it is to have yams by personally a yams in the farm. It is a kind of reminder of the cycle of life and the need to farm in order to get the productivity of our work.
Before I start gathering the yams and taking the food that I grew personally and directly I am grateful for the chance to see the nature in its beauty and be a part of this process of growing food. Thus, the season of batting grain denotes one time in the year people can see the blessings of the ground and they certainly know the sweetness of it when results materialize as fruits of hard work.
In this season of harvest I thank God to be able to have the fruits of my hard work as well as enjoy the yams grown at the back of my compound. It is happiness and joy and a nice time to stop and think about our life and all that nature provides for us.
