Minding my business: An Important Aspect of My Life.

So today I will be writing on one of the topics "Minding your Business" on the weekly prompts. Most times we do not really overemphasize the need of minding our business we try to interfere in matters that do not even concern us. At most times we always should sit back and watch rather than trying to intervene in the issue.

People should in most cases learn how to mind their business to avoid them from getting into trouble they could have avoided. Yes most issues actually need intervention but we still have to be careful in going to intervene in some situations. Something happened years back in my environment. Early in the morning we heard the wife of one of our neighbours crying and shouting for help. I could recall my Dad wanted to go and help the woman because we believed the husband was abusing her but my mum stopped him from going there and thank God he heard. Later when we went out we noticed that we saw a crowd in the neighbours compound so when we drew near to ask. We heard that one of the Good Samaritans that went to separate the fight and rescue the woman was stabbed to death by the woman's husband claiming that he was the one that coached the wife to disrespect him that was why he killed him in the process. I had mixed feelings that day. I ran back to pass the news to my parents. I was like, if my mum was not there to hold my father back from going so probably he would have been the one to have lost his life.

So that day i learnt a lesson to mind my business no matter how tempting it could be and it needs my intervention i will just pass jejely. I lived with that till date that I will see an issue. I should either step in and intervene but my experience as a child played back and I will just ignore going to intervene to avoid issues. Recently on a Sunday morning I was about to leave for church when I heard my neighbour fighting with the husband even in the presence of the children. I had this urge to go beg them to stop at least because of the children but i was so scared and i just couldn't go to intervene because of the kind of issue that would have took my fathers life then so i moved to church and minded my business but i was not comfortable but because of the issue i had i just had to withhold myself for intervening at that situation.

So my experience taught me to always mind my business no matter what and I have taken minding my business to be a very important aspect of my life because i do not want to fall into trouble. Even though most situations need intervention we also have to learn the act of minding our business in order to avoid problems that can be avoidable.
