Long Distance Relationship feels like a Constant Goodbye.

Going through the Topics for this week's prompt The Long Distance relationship caught my attention. Keeping a relationship close by and being in a long distance relationship are both unique in their own way. But A long-distance relationship is one part of a relationship I know I can not cope with. It actually feels like a constant Goodbye because of the prolonged period of separation and the emotional distress and anxiety that comes with it. I actually see a lot of people enter into a long distance relationship and they end up well because they believe in it.

In a long distance relationship, a lot of work is put into it in order to make it work ranging from putting in more effort, being committed, communicating openly and making the relationship a priority in order to make it thrive despite the distance. A long distance relationship is not a type that can just work like that because to me it is risky. It takes two understanding and positive people to indulge in a long distance relationship. Communication is one thing that can help a long distance relationship thrive. Anyone that has trust issues should not be involved in a long-distance relationship because there will be time your partner will not pick your call on time and you will not think he or she is cheating on you.

I am strongly against a Long distance relationship because I know I cannot cope with the emotional stress that comes with it, the Negative impact on mental health and wellbeing. The feelings of dating someone you are not able to see frequently but just once in a while is something I cannot live with because I will be Emotionally exhausted. While growing up and started talking about Marriage i told my friends i cannot marry a man that travels a lot or marry a man that stays far from me like i can't deal with being single for this number of years then when i finally marry we will be separated because of Job or any other thing that could make us relate from a distance. Most of them objected that they preferred a long distance relationship. They prefer being unavailable so that they will be missed by their partners.

On the other hand I am more of a clingy person. I prefer a relationship where my partner is around where I can alway reach out to him whenever I miss him. The lack of physical touch, intimacy, and affection alone could emotionally drain me and I will be feeling like the relationship is drifting apart. Long distance relationships can breed distrust, Jealousy, feeling lonely, increased conflict and misunderstandings that I cannot deal with. So i try to maintain staying in a close relationship rather than jumping into a Long-distance relationship.
