Our health and our personal hygiene is very important to our existence. As human beings, we have to pay serious attention to our health, because even the Bible has said it that, our body is the temple of God, Which implies that, we have to try as much as possible to keep our body holy and to make sure that we take very good care of it. It also calls for concern to be mindful of what we put in, and on our body because they are repercussions attached to it.

There is a very strong relationship between our health and our personal hygiene because our personal hygiene can either improve or impair our health which can cause a very big harm to our bodies, sometimes leading to death. It is a serious concern because our generation nowadays, are so lazy that they even neglect their personal hygiene.

Here are some of the things we need to do when we talk about healthy living.

NUTRITION: The way and how we eat daily, plays an important role in our health. Eating a balanced diet is very essential to our health. It contributes to how our internal organs work effectively. We need to understand that whatever food we take into our bodies, can either build or damage the Organs in our bodies, causing them to begin to lose their potency and they would not do their work perfectly well in the body anymore. We need to eat more of food that is rich in fibre, minerals and vitamins such as, fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean proteins.

DRINKING ENOUGH WATER: Drinking enough clean water daily helps in detoxification, it also helps in circulation within the body. Studies have shown that it is better to stay hydrated than to stay dehydrated.

EXERCISE: Getting yourself involved in regular physical exercise is very crucial to the health. It helps in circulation and also helps the organs to perform their duties effectively without much alteration

SLEEP: Getting enough sleep helps in improving the health, and it will also allow our bodies to rest and recover from all the stress we went through. Of course, the internal organs will do their work perfectly while the body is at rest.

REGULAR CHECKUP: We need to cultivate the habit of always going to the hospital for regular checkup just to ensure that we maintain a healthy system. We should not always wait until there is a problem before we go to the hospital for examination.

Some of the personal hygiene we need to pay attention to so as to improve our health are ; handwashing, bathing regularly, brushing of the teeth, combing of hair, cutting our nails, washing our dirty wears, and keeping our environment clean. In as much as personal hygiene is important, it's of a great concern and suggestion that more sensitization should be done to the people living in the rural areas so as to let them know how dangerous it is to neglect personal hygiene.
