Forever or Whenever: Why i would'nt want to live forever.

Good morning Everyone. It's the weekend and I hope you all are enjoying your rest and doing great as always.

While going through the Topics on Hive Ghana Weekly prompt I decided to write on one of the topics "Forever or whenever".

Looking at First, Living Forever. This means endless opportunities for growth, learning, and experiencing all that life has to offer. People could pursue multiple careers, master countless skills, and develop deep and meaningful relationships over an eternity.

On the other hand, Death comes with significant challenges and drawbacks. When one is dead every one of the person's goals and aspirations comes to a stand still.

One of the most immediate concerns of living forever is the issue of overpopulation. With no natural end to life, the Earth would quickly become overcrowded, leading to conflicts over space, food, and other necessities. Another thing is that if we have to live forever, relationships will drastically diminish compared to when you know that you can lose a loved one anytime you will see that there will be commitment and value of time spent on loved ones.

Life actually comes with death. At a point in one's life we one way or the other desire death. Especially when you have lived a fulfilled life and really desire to rest. And also when our bodies and minds are not capable of withstanding the test of time, degenerative diseases, physical deterioration, and mental decline could still pose significant hurdles to maintaining a high quality of life.

Even if i was to live forever, i would not want to live forever because in life there is time for everything "A time to live and a time to Die". Death is a time to rest from all the life struggles, from achievements and from living a fulfilled life. There will come to a point in life where nothing about life matters anymore but all you will hear is praying for death to come.

I had a distant relative that lived up to 96 years. She was still strong but had difficulty in walking and also in seeing properly. Each time we visited, i will always hear her request we pray for death to come for her and i will ask why she would say something like that when she had people still caring and providing for her but she will answer by saying that she is tired and wants to go and rest from all her toilings and i kept wondering why she would want death and i came to a conclusion that no matter how hard we may want to live forever, at some point in our life. We will get tired and will want to die.

When you have a chance to live, live a fulfilled life because at some certain age you will not have the strength to do most things again and when weakness finally comes you will not be able to live forever.
