It's another exciting and interesting week to share our thoughts and learn as well. For this week I will be sharing my thoughts on Children, Movies and Parental Guidance. When I saw this topic I personally feel it is impossible to guide what our children watch these days because most parents do not even get to guide their children again concerning what they watch. We tend not to be so concerned thinking we love them enough to give them room to do anything they feel like to do.

In this era, times have changed. You see a child at Age 5 plus and above handling a gadget and you notice that their parents don't even guide what they watch. We now see teenagers also on social media and we know how erotic and a bad influence social media can be to a child and we don't even care. So far a parent has money they get those gadgets for them and do not even guide them against what they watch.

While growing up it was a problem seeing movies in my house. My parents were keen about the kind of things we watched as children. We never had access to gadgets until we were mature enough to handle it. My parents made sure they assess the movie we watched before allowing us to watch it by watching it first. But now most parents do not even care. I had visited a friend's place and we were seeing a movie and the daughter was around. The movie was really not a movie the daughter should watch but she cared less. Even when I tried signalling her she saw the signals and told me it's nothing. After all, the girl is growing up so there is nothing wrong about what she watches. It is good that she was exposed earlier and I was like wow. Getting to expose a child should be done by the parent and not what they feed their eyes on.

When i was a Class Assistant in a nursery school we incidentally caught two pupils male Age 5 and female Age 4 making out in a toilet so i was the one that took it upon myself to know why children at that age could go that far and the male told me she sees the parent making out. While the 4 years old female said she watched it in a movie and she came to practice what she saw in the movie. I was so disturbed that I had to call both parents and I was able to educate them on the need of guiding what their children watch because they could also want to try it out especially the one that does not have good communication with the parent.

Parents should really be intentional about guiding what their children watch in order not to expose them to things that will mar their future. Even the so called rated 13 movies if we notice they are not really okay we should try to check out what our children watch, be involved in your child's life, they are many Good interesting and educating movies and even channels for children that will even impact their lives let parent introduce this kind of movies to the children and stop exposing them to wrong morals that if not guided will impact their lives negatively.
