"I'm happy to finally share a finished piece from a recent class assignment: an artwork titled 'Musical Instruments.' This piece gave me the opportunity to study and depict the beauty of instruments from different traditions—specifically the talking drum, sekere, flute, gourd, and tambourine.
My choice to work on paper was a big part of the process. This medium allowed me to create precise lines and rich shading, capturing the unique character of each instrument, from the intricate patterns of the talking drum to the delicate shape of the flute. This was a valuable learning experience. My goal was to show their individual character while also creating a unified, harmonious whole.
