Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - Voss (Eng/Ita)

We are at the end of the year, and we can look back at what happened during this 2025, which will now last only a few more hours.
In Splinterlands it has been a year full of new features, from the introduction of the new card edition Conclave Arcana and the Foundations cards, all the way to the Inaugural Land Cards and the latest twist, the launch of Avatars and Exemplars, a feature that finally brings more customization to the platform, with the possibility of even creating your own custom card, well, we can say that the Splinterlands staff certainly does not lack imagination, every month is full of astonishing new features, sometimes so revolutionary that they are a bit hard to digest for players and investors.

For me, on Splinterlands, it has been a mixed year, with many victories alternating with just as many defeats, I did not push very hard on purchasing cards from the CA edition, and this punished me a bit in the Conflicts: after the first Conflict where I was extremely lucky to find a gold foil Zyrx the Emberglace, in the following Conflicts I did not win a single card, forcing me to return to the card market to possibly buy a few more monsters in order to keep up and remain competitive compared to other players, who continue to strengthen their collections.

But in this end of year Splinterlands Social Media Challenge, let us analyze together a new Reward card !

This friendly warrior owl is called Voss, and it is an epic monster from the new Rewards edition, belonging to the Fire element and the Avian Bloodline, and already at level one, for the cost of just 4 mana, it offers 4 Health, 1 Magic and Speed, and the Bloodline Tribute ability, one of the new abilities introduced this year, which causes that when Voss is defeated and leaves the battlefield, its teammates gain +1 to all stats and attacks shared with Voss, in this case, Magic.

It has only 6 upgrade levels, where it also gains the Void and Magic Reflect abilities, which make it a real tough nut for opponents with magic attacks, and allow it to defend itself a bit better despite having no Armor points.

The market, for now, is fairly lukewarm toward this card, with a price of around 0.56 USD per BCX, it could be a good opportunity to level it up, even though it is not very rare to find it in Glint store drafts.

In this battle, with a medium low Mana Cap of 37 and no Modifiers, I chose Lorkus as my archon and placed at the front of the team my usual favorite combo, Chaos Golem and Gramel The Hunger, followed by Lenore Nevermore, Elanor Bravefoot, and Voss.

My opponent, instead, opted for the archon Kaylia Silverleaf, placing Silverblade Fighter in the first position, followed by Endless Ape, Vicious Quilliun, Swampwrought, and finally Giam Root.

The attacking duo of my opponent, composed of Silverblade Fighter and Endless Ape, was also very aggressive, with Giam Root in the backline, who held on until the end with an impressive 11 Health points.

I, on the other hand, tried to fully exploit the Bloodline Tribute ability of Voss by fielding another card of the same bloodline, the Avian one, namely Lenore Nevermore in third position: it could have been a great strategy, but Voss survived and never died, therefore failing to activate Bloodline Tribute.

In conclusion, I believe that Voss is an excellent card for its very low cost of just 4 mana, however, it must be said that its main ability, Bloodline Tribute, is very difficult to apply, because there are very few cards of the same bloodline, and additionally it must be placed in a sacrificial position where it is often hit in order to activate this ability, making it a feature that is very hard to exploit in many types of battles.

Siamo alla fine dell'anno, e possiamo tirare le somme di quello che è avvenuto in questo 2025 che ormai durerà solo poche ore.
In Splinterlands è stato un anno pieno di novità, dall'introduzione della nuova edizione di carte Conclave Arcana e le carte Foundations, fino alle Inaugural Land Cards e all'ultimo colpo di scena, la partenza degli Avatars e Exemplars, una funzione che finalmente introduce più personalizzazione in questa piattaforma, con la possibilità di creare, addirittura, la propria carta personalizzata, beh, possiamo dire che allo staff di Splinterlands non manca certo la fantasia, ogni mese è pieno di novità strabilianti, certe volte così rivoluzionarie che sono un po' ostiche da digerire per i giocatori/investitori.

Per me, su Splinterlands è stato un anno variegato, con tante vittorie alternate ad altrettante sconfitte, non ho spinto tantissimo sugli acquisti delle carte dell'edizione CA, e questo mi ha punito un po' nelle Conflicts: dopo la prima Conflict dove ho avuto la grandissima fortuna di trovare un Zyrx the Emberglace in formato oro, nelle Conflicts successive non ho vinto nessuna carta, forzandomi a dover ritornare sul mercato delle carte a comprar eventualmente qualche mostro in più per restare al passo e rimanere competitivo rispetto agli altri giocatori, che continuano a potenziare le proprie collezioni.

Ma in questo Splinterlands Social Media Challenge dell'ultimo dell'anno, andiamo ad analizzare insieme una nuova carta Reward !

Questo simaptico gufo guerriero si chiama Voss, ed è un mostro epico della nuova edizione Rewards, e appartiene all'elemento Fire e alla Bloodline Avian, e già al primo livello, per il costo di soli 4 mana, offre 4 di Health, 1 di Magia e Speed, e l'abilità Bloodline Tribute, one delle nuove di quest'anno, che fa in modo che quando Voss viene sconfitto e lascia il campo di battaglia, i compagni di squadra guadagnano +1 in tutte le stats e attacchi condivisi con Voss, quindi in questo caso si tratta della Magia.

Ha solo 6 livelli di potenziamento, in cui guadagna anche le abilità Void e Magic Reflect, che lo fanno diventare un vero osso duro per gli avversari con attacco magico , e va così a difendersi un po' meglio non avendo punti di Armor.

Il mercato, per adesso, è abbastanza tiepido verso questa carta, con una quotazione di circa 0,56 $ per BCX, potrebbe essere una buona occasione per portarlo a livelli più alti, anche se non è rarissimo trovarlo nei drafts del glint store.

In questa sfida a Mana Cap medio basso di 37 e nessun Modifier, ho scelto come archon Lorkus ed ho messo davanti alla squadra la mia solita accoppiata preferita Choas Golem / Gramel The Hunger, seguiti da Lenore Nevermore, Elanor Bravefoot e Voss.

Il mio avversario, invece, si è orientato verso l'archon Kaylia Silverleaf, mettendo Silverblade Fighter in prima posizione, seguito da Endless Ape, Vicious Quilliun, Swampwrought, e per finire, Giam Root.

Anche il duo d'attacco del mio avversario, formato da Silverblade Fighter e Endless Ape era molto aggressivo, con Giam Root , nelle retrovie, che ha ben resistito fino alla fine con i suoi ben 11 punti di Health.

Io, invece, ho cercato di sfruttare a pieno l'abilità Bloodline Tribute di Voss schierando un'altra carta della stessa bloodline, ovvero quella Avian, e sto parlando di Lenore Nevermore in terza posizione: poteva essere un'ottima strategia, ma Voss ha resisto e non è mai morto, non potendo così attivare la Bloodline Tribute.

In definitiva, credo che Voss sia un'ottima carta per il costo molto basso di soli 4 mana, però bisogna dire che la sua abilità principale, ovvero Bloodline Tribute, è molto difficile da applicare, perchè ci sono molte poche carte della sua stessa bloodline, e in più deve essere messo in una posizione "sacrificale" dove viene spesso colpita per poter attivare questa abilità, rendendola una caratteristica molto difficile da sfruttare in molti tipi di battaglia.
