Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: Fithe Bladestone + Little League (ENG/ITA)

The theme of this week's Community Engagement Challenge is Hidden Gem, that is, to bring to light a combo between rulesets and abilities, or between Archons and monsters on the field, that manages to lead your team to victory, and that, perhaps, is not very well known to most players.

With 8 editions released, including Foundations and Gladius, the number of configurations and possible interactions has probably reached three digits, so even for the most experienced players it becomes difficult to keep all the possibilities in mind, especially in the Wild format, where you can choose from all available editions without limits, and where the use of Bots is allowed, making it very difficult for a human being to be competitive, although by studying the matches played, it is possible to figure out which configurations are the most commonly used and successful.

The situation is different in the Modern format, where only cards from the last two editions can be chosen, and bots are not allowed, which gives us the opportunity to calmly and carefully analyze the interactions of the newer cards, even though this also means dealing with the latest arrivals on the platform, such as the recent Bloodline introduced with the Conclave Arcana edition.

And among the new CA cards that caught my attention, the Fire element Archon Fithe Bladestone definitely stands out among the other summoners, even though its market price is rather low, with a value of about $1.5 per BCX.

Its +2 Armor to all teammates is a very important buff, and it also grants the Void ability to its monsters belonging to the same Bloodline, even though the Dwarf bloodline is not very crowded, it does include cards such as Blazebeard Merc, Swiftbeard Stout, and Mad Kaboomist.

Well, you all know the Little League ruleset by now, it is one of the oldest rulesets in Splinterlands, and it forces us to choose cards with a Mana cost of 4 or less. This means that heavy and medium-weight cards are excluded from our selection, so we are left with cards that usually have rather limited stats.

And it is precisely in this situation that the synergy with the Archon Fithe Bladestone can prove to be victorious. For cards with generally low attack stats, as is often the case in Little League battles, a +2 Armor bonus can be a huge advantage, allowing your monsters to withstand one more round than your opponent’s, a difference that is less noticeable with heavyweights who deal 4, 5, or 6 damage per hit.

In this match, with a Mana Cap of 28 and two rulesets, Broken Arrows and Little League, I deliberately selected Fithe Bladestone, placing Halfling Refugee as Tank, followed by Night Stalker, Surly Drunk, Gobalano Soldier, Ferrous Brewer, and finally Continuum Seer.

My opponent, instead, chose another CA Archon, Gorgug the Endless, using the same tank as mine, Halfling Refugee, but followed by Taye Loreswift, Stampeding Calf, Shock Trooper, Ujurak Elder, and Ferrous Brewer.

Although my opponent’s team was well powered up, his Archon’s debuff of -1 Ranged fell flat due to the Broken Arrows ruleset, while the +2 Armor provided by my Fithe Bladestone carefully protected many of my monsters, leading to the third and final round in a 3 versus 1, where even a card like Shock Trooper with 4 magic attack was taken down.

In this battle I also managed to use Fithe’s Bloodline Dominion, granting Ferrous Brewer the Void ability, an excellent defense against the magical attacks of the opposing team.

Therefore, for me Fithe Bladestone remains one of the most effective Archons in battles with the Little League ruleset, the advantages it provides can really help you reach the final victory of the match.

Il tema del Community Engagement Challenge di questa settimana è Hidden Gem, ovvero quella di portare alla luce una combo tra rulesets e abilità, o tra Archons e mostri in campo, che riesce a portare la propria squadra alla vittoria, e che, magari, non è molto conosciuta alla maggior parte dei giocatori.

Con 8 edizioni all'attivo, contando anche quelle Foundations e Gladius, ormai il numero di configurazioni e possibili interazioni si avvicina, probabilmente, ad un numero a 3 cifre, quindi anche per i giocatori più esperti diventa difficile tenere a mente tutte le possibilità, soprattutto nel formato Wild in cui si possono scegliere tutte le edizioni disponibili, senza limiti, e dove è concesso l'uso dei Bots, quindi è molto difficile essere competitivo per un essere umano, anche se, studiando le varie partite giocate, si riesce ad intuire quali sono le configurazioni più usate e vincenti.

Diversa è la situazione nel formato Modern, dove si possono scegliere carte solo delle ultime due edizioni, e i bot non sono ammessi, e quindi abbiamo la possibilità di approfondire con più calma e serenità le varie interazioni delle carte più nuove, anche se questo vuol dire affrontare le ultime novità arrivate sulla piattaforma, come le recenti Bloodline che sono approdate con l'edizione Conclave Arcana.

E tra le nuovi carte CA che hanno destato il mio interesse, sicuramente l'archon delle elemento Fire di nome Fithe Bladestone spicca tra gli altri evocatori, anche se la valutazione sul mercato è abbastanza bassa, con un valore di circa 1,5 $ per BCX.

Il suo +2 in Armor a tutti i compagni di squadra è un buff molto importante, e inoltre dona l'abilità Void a i propri mostri che appartengono alla sua stessa Bloodline, anche se la bloodline Dwarf non è molto affollata, ma tiene tra le sue fila carta come Blazebeard Merc, Swiftbeard Stout e Mad Kaboomist.

Beh, il ruleset Little League lo conoscete tutti ormai, è uno dei ruleset più vecchi di Splinterlands, e ci impone di scegliere carte che hanno un costo in termini di Mana uguale o inferiore a 4: questo vuol dire che i pesi massimi e medi sono esclusi dalla nostra scelta, e quindi ci dobbiamo accontentare di scegliere carte che hanno stats abbastanza limitate.

Ed è proprio in questa occasione, che la sinergia con l'archon Fithe Bladestone può rivelarsi vincente: infatti, per carte con punteggi di attacco , di solito molto limitati, come quelli nelle sfide Little League, un + 2 di armor può essere un vantaggio enorme, che fa resistere i propri mostri un round in più di quelli del proprio avversario, differenza che magari si nota di meno con gli Heavyweights che tirano colpi da 4-5-6 colpi a botta.

In questa sfida, con una Mana Cap di 28, e due ruleset, Broken Arrows e Little League, ho volutamente selezionato Fithe Bladestone , mettendo Halfling Refugee come Tank, seguito da Night Stalker, Surly Drunk, Gobalano Soldier, Ferrous Brewer, e, per finire, Continuum Seer.

Il mio avversario, invece, ha scelto un altro archon CA, ovvero Gorgug the Endless, mettendo lo stesso tank uguale al mio, ovvero Halfling Refugee, ma seguito da Taye Loreswift, Stampeding Calf, Shock Trooper, Ujurak Elder, e Ferrous Brewer.

Benchè la squadra del mio avversario fosse ben potenziata, il debuff del suo archon di -1 in Ranged è caduto nel vuoto, essendo una sfida con il ruleset Broken Arrows, mentre il +2 in Armor fornito dal mio Fithe Bladestone ha protetto con cura molti dei miei mostri, arrivando al terzo ed ultimo round in un 3 contro 1, che è riuscito a mandare al tappeto anche una carta come Shock Trooper dotata di 4 di attacco magico.

In questa sfida sono riuscito anche ad usare la Bloodline Dominion di Fithe, donando a Ferrous Brewer l'abilità Void, ottima protezione contro gli attacchi magici della squadra avversaria.

Quindi, per me Fithe Bladestone rimane uno degli archon più performanti nelle sfide con il ruleset Little League, i vantaggi che dona possono veramente aiutare ad arrivare alla vittoria finale della battaglia.
