RE: Funeral Plans.... an odd risk to take...?

I once walked into the room, when my 90 year old Mum was visiting us,to find her in a very intense conversation one the phone. I could hear part of what was being said and realised that someone was trying to sell her a funeral plan. I kept telling her to put the phone down but, being true to her generation she found that hard to do, as she felt it rude.
I could her the person on the other end ramping up the pressure saying stuff like - "do you really want to add that stress to your children?" - "don't you want to save your children from all the stress you can when you die?" I was bloody furious.
She's actually very savvy for someone her age and when I asked her afterwards she said she may have in advertently ticked a box saying she would interested to hear more and she did indeed want to save us from as much hassle as she could when she died.
I pointed out that if she didn't spend the money on funeral insurance we would inherit more. 😂
Anyway, having heard the agressive and cruel tactics this salesman was using I can understand how people get suckered in.
They really just sound like scum.
