You are viewing a single comment's thread:

I really like the sound of this but, despite watching some videos, it still mostly goes over my head.

Since this is all so new, wouldn't it be safer to use a new Hive account?

If you publish posts through the One Bitcoin Club UI do they also show up on Hive?

So, do your Hive followers automatically see the post despite being posted via the One Bitcoin Club?

I look forward to hearing how your rewards are.

Thanks for stopping by and asking these great questions, @gillianpearce. Here are some answers:

  • New vs. existing: Isn't it nice to have options? I think so. Since this seemed to be what everyone was initially told, many have elected to have a separate account, just for the purpose of joining this community.

    While just starting writing on Hive, my experience outside of Hive is associated with all kinds of addresses. More than I care to think about. Having a bunch of additional ones on Hive? No compelling argument I've seen overrides my great reluctance to do that.

    From a safety POV, I would just ensure your BTC wallet is backed by a hardware wallet, as mentioned in my post.

  • Sure they do. Here is my post on PeakD, which is the UI I have used up until publishing this post.

    Note: This new community's UI is a work-in-progress, as we might expect. You'll see my lead image did not appear. I brought this to the attention of the developer.

  • Given this above, I cannot imagine any account's followers would not see posts to this UI. The underlying code on the Hive blockchain is almost certainly behind ensuring that is true.

    For example, Shani Beer reblogged it and we can see it there, using the PeakD UI.

As for transactions, I was pleasantly surprised that I already have one! Based on 2 transactions, in this sequence:

  1. 1.09 HBD: btc4content => v4vapp
  2. 1.09 HBD > 1,232 Sats > 4.055 HIVE: v4vapp => quark.top

Other than my noting 30% of our post rewards are mandatorily set to btc4content, I do not yet know how this works exactly. Or why I would have received this HIVE about 2 hours after posting vs. 7 days at payout.

I hope this helps some. Feel free to ask more questions, if not.

Thanks for answering my questions. I'm not sure I'm ready to set this up yet bt I will be following along with others' experiences.
