Pixel Posting | Work, Art, Repeat: Stitching Passion Into Long Shifts, 3/7( Guys I'm sorry but I just accidentally posted part 3 )
Hello again, my pixel-loving friends! Ready for more behind-the-scenes thoughts?
Also how do you feel about the 2 week hiatus every 2 weeks of posting?
Let’s talk about the actual process of crawling out of a creative slump—because the last three weeks have been brutal. Working full-time in gastronomy means 10-12 hour shifts that leave you physically drained and mentally blank.
There’s a special kind of exhaustion that comes from being on your feet until 3 AM, smelling like fried food or alcohol, and realizing you haven’t sketched anything in days. Yet somehow, even in that fog, I kept scribbling pixel doodles on my iPad during breaks. Not because I had to, but because not creating felt worse.
This brings me to a realization: Discipline isn’t glamorous. Most art tutorials show the polished result, not the 4 AM frustration when your animation frames won’t loop right. Or the days you force yourself to open Procreate despite a headache, just to place three pixels before giving up. But here’s the thing—those tiny, ugly efforts add up. The half-finished pieces and abandoned sketches? They’re not failures; they’re proof you showed up.
I think this art piece might actually tell you a lot about showing up, Honestly it took me more than 4 tries to finish this one, I was walking around blindfolded but at last my determination have won.
I have won just so now you can enjoy it fully :)

Now, about that "side job" dream I mentioned last time: Commissions. I’ve debated this for months. On one hand, monetizing art risks sucking the joy out of it. On the other, there’s a weird freedom in valuing your own work enough to charge for it. Maybe it’s not about becoming a "sellout," but about saying, "Hey, my time and skills have worth." So here’s the tentative plan:
• Tier 1: Simple static icons (think: Discord emotes) for $5-10
• Tier 2: Animated wallpapers (your pet as a pixel hero? Yes.) for $20-30
• Tier 3: "Premium" nonsense (e.g., a fully animated short scene with music) for $50+ and yeah here's a catch, last idea seems pretty nice but to be honest I'm not at this level yet, but who knows, maybe one day you'll notice it on my ko-fi as commision request :p
Would you pay for any of these? Be brutally honest—this only works if there’s real interest.
Meanwhile, my Blender experiments continue… poorly. 3D modeling is like trying to sculpt fog. I’ll click a vertex, and suddenly my cube looks like a melted cheese monster. But! I’ve mastered the sacred art of deleting entire projects and starting over, which counts as progress.
Game dev remains a distant star, but I’ve bookmarked a tutorial on "C# for Absolute Beginners." (Pray for me.)
