Pixel Posting | Run it over #14

Hello there people of Hive!

This post will be a bit shorter than usual and I hope that you don't mind :)

I was looking for some kind of physical activity that wouldn’t be a whole project to get into. Something that’s easy to start and could actually make me feel better. Running kinda just… made sense. No gym pass, no fixed hours, no group classes. Just me, a pair of shoes, and the pavement. That’s it.


I haven’t been doing it for that long, but I try to stay consistent. For me, it’s not really about sports or pushing limits – it’s about getting my body back. I smoked for years, and let’s be honest, that stuff stays with you. Running feels like a way to undo some of the damage, to rebuild the version of me that breathes deeper and moves lighter.


Right now, I’m aiming at something solid – running a half-marathon. Not racing, not chasing numbers. Just a steady run from start to finish. My own pace. My own rhythm. That’s enough.
Since I started, the difference has been real. My stamina’s up, my body doesn’t feel like it’s dragging itself around anymore, and most of all – my mind is quieter. Before, it was like I was constantly fighting the world around me. Now, things feel more grounded. The noise is still there sometimes, but it doesn’t hit the same way.


And you know what? That post-run feeling? When your shirt’s soaked, your heart’s pounding, and you’re just walking it off with a calm breath – that shit is pure gold. It’s not for show, it’s not for metrics. It’s just mine.

If I could talk to myself before I started, I’d say a few things:
Get good shoes. Trust me, you’ll regret the cheap ones.
Don’t expect magic on day one. Show up, keep showing up – that’s it.
And keep your arms higher and closer to your body when you run. Sounds stupid, but it matters. You’ll look less like you’re trying to swim on land.

I know running doesn’t sound exciting to most people. But to me, it’s a reset button. A ritual. A moment where I feel like I’m doing something right – just for me.

If you’re stuck, if your brain’s a mess, if everything feels like too much – go run. Even a little. It might not solve your problems, but it gives you just enough space to breathe again. And sometimes, that’s all you need.
Or atleast give yourself any space to try out new physical stuff!
