Pixel Posting | Melancholic City / Kitty #17

Hello there Hiveans!

Another week of posting ahead of us, I hope to have all your attention as always :)

So I’ve been reading The ONE Thing by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan.

If you’re expecting some 400-page life manifesto, relax – it’s short, to the point, and actually pretty damn good.

By the time you’re reading this, I’ve probably finished it, since I’ve been doing around 15–30 pages a day.

The book doesn’t pretend to change your life with some magical quote – it just puts a spotlight on the mess we call “being busy.”

That constant overthinking, that drowning-in-task-lists feeling? Yeah, it calls that out. Hard. And it makes you ask: What’s the one thing I could be doing right now that actually matters?
That hit me.

Because I’ve been there – trying to do a hundred things at once, ending up doing none of them well. So now I’ve started prioritizing properly.
There’s stuff that matters, and there’s stuff that feels like it matters but just clogs up your brain. I’ve stopped clinging to every tiny task like it’s a crisis. Spoiler: it’s not.

These days, I feel like I’m more present in what I’m doing.

Time doesn’t just vanish like it used to. I’m not perfect with it, but I notice more – like, “Hey, this thing I’m doing right now is actually helping Future Me.” And Future Me is grateful, because Past Me was kind of a disaster.

Take cleaning, for example. I used to be the classic “organized chaos” guy. Now? Daily small cleanups, like second nature. No more brain space wasted on the silent guilt of knowing my place is a mess. Just a clean space = clean mind.

As we speak of clean things, I think it's time for me to show you what I came up with lately!

Take a look at this piece, I'm very proud of it !

In some ways, I feel like the cats I draw, gazing endlessly at the quiet aches of everyday life.

Same goes for food.

I meal prep more. I don’t have to think about what to cook when I’m already tired – I just heat and eat. Small habit, big payoff.

And I get it – people love instant gratification. “Why save money when I could spend it now?” “Why clean today when I can clean tomorrow?” But honestly, once you start choosing long-term benefit over short-term comfort, life starts making a lot more sense.

Yeah, sometimes the effort doesn’t pay off right away. Sometimes you do the work and the results show up in weeks, not hours. But that's fine. That’s real.

You get better at recognizing what’s worth your time. And sometimes? You just say no to the noise.

Remember: 80% of the results come from 20% of the effort. Don’t burn out trying to be perfect. Just focus on what matters. One thing at a time.

That's it for today's post, let me know how you feel and if you got any questions!

( Btw. I have finished the book, it's amazing and I recommend you to take a try! )
