Things We Do For Love.

I had an experience during the week and it brought back a silly memory of something that happened over a decade ago.

My brother's phone screen got damaged and we couldn't fix it in the city where I live, it's one of the new Motorola phones and the parts are not easy to come by so I took the phone to the computer village where I eventually got it fixed. On my way back, I went through Ketu and while the cab I boarded was waiting for more passengers, a man approached the driver and told him where was going.

The driver told him to hop in and this guy pleaded that he didn't have the complete fare. Due to the fuel crisis here, the driver refused to take the money but after a few minutes of waiting for the passenger and none showed up, the driver told the guy to hop in and we left the park with an empty seat.

We moved for about 3 minutes and a lady stopped the cab. She was going our direction and the guy who pleaded about not having the complete fare was just smiling, I thought he wasn't okay.

He exchanged pleasantries with the lady and from his reaction, I felt a connection between them. He went on winking at her and she was blushing while looking at the guy from the rear mirror.

They must have known eachother somewhere, somehow.

The lady alighted before the guy and as she was about to pay her fare, the guy said she shouldn't bother and that he was going to pay.

I was shocked because the same guy pleaded that all he had on was the incomplete fare. The guy arrived at his destination and paid the driver for two passengers. Immediately he left, I and other passengers burst into laughter. Honestly, I thought I was the only one watching them but I was wrong.

The experience made me remember a time when my church did a vigil at their new site somewhere in Ogun State. The place was close to calling a forest and I wondered why a church would buy such a place to build the house of God.

We arrived for the vigil and it turned out that the vigil was the closest way I would get to my crush in the church. She is a mature lady though but I believe age is just a number. I have tried starting a conversation with her severally but people always interrupted us but that night was different.

Upon our arrival, we were welcomed by mosquitoes, they were big and I think it made their bite very painful as well.

I watched her from where she was for some time and decided to meet her.

"Hi," I greeted and she responded pretty well. We started chatting and she told me about her difficulty with the mosquitoes because she came unprepared. I thought it was the perfect shot for me to win her heart so I removed my shirt and gave her to cover her legs.

Her reaction melted my heart and I believed that things would go smoothly between us. She was able to take a nap before the vigil started while mosquitoes did me dirty.

The vigil was a success and I had it in my that I would continue from where I stopped with the lady on Sunday but she didn't show up. I didn't have her number to communicate with her so I just waited. Three Sundays passed and the pastor announced her wedding invite. Honestly, I was shocked and offering myself as a peace offering to mosquitoes was in vain.

I didn't learn my lesson though because after a few years, I went ahead to sell my phone just to buy a birthday gift for a friend I was crushing on. I felt like the man of the year after handing her the gift but a guy showed up at her place with a new smartphone and she shifted my gift aside.

I don't see myself stopping though despite having a woman in my life already because I still do those silly things to date. Don't ask me what those silly things are because they are confidential.

They definitely know eachother because of how they greeted and I can tell the guy is still trying to win her heart somehow.

Ah!!😂
Tht guy is not all right.
If I were the driver, I'd collect my complete fare from him.
What sort of behaviour was that??😩

Lolz, the guy shocked me and I didn't want to laugh while he was doing his thing. If I was the driver truly, I would tell him the pay the normal fee for himself.

You sure have experienced and done a lot of things for love.
We ladies do guys really dirty sometimes, the story took me back to how my aunt did one of her suitors dirty, like real dirty! Haha.
Glad to know you have a woman now.

Thanks zeegirl, I believe that these things are normal but you know when ladies talk about these things during gossip, it hurts somehow.

It's okay, those experiences are things we laugh about now.
