Hello everyone! Welcome to Hive Learner's Creative Sunday Initiative with George Dee. As usual, I bring to you delicious and healthy recipes this wonderful Sunday as part of my participation in the Creative Sunday Initiative.

Today is all about a snack that crossed my mind while making chinchin during the week. I thought the outcome might be nice and decided to give it a try, which is the only way to prove myself right or wrong.

Fish pie is the closest name to the snack, but if you think of something better, let me know in the comment section. I know a lot of people refer to snacks as junk food, but this is different because it's loaded with veggies, and you are definitely going to enjoy eating it.

This snack is nutritious and delicious; it's easy to prepare and doesn't cost you more money than you would have spent when you ordered it or ate out.

Let me take you through the process of preparing this yummy snack.

Ingredients

Flour

Fish

Carrot

Spring onions

Baking powder

Butter

Milk

Egg

Sugar

Baking powder

Seasoning cubes

Salt

Groundnut.

Onions

Chili powder

Procedure.

I started by processing the recipes after cleaning those that could be cleaned.

  • I boiled the fish with seasoning cubes and salt; it has to be soft so that I can remove the bones and shred the fish into pieces.

  • I chopped the spring onion, onions and grated the carrot on a plate.

I moved on to making a dough from the flour and some ingredients.

I turned the flour into a container and added sugar, baking powder, and milk. I mixed them together and turned the whisked egg into the container.

I mixed again and finally added butter. I already had a dough and started kneading until the dough was smooth.

After getting the dough, I kept the container aside.

How I made the pie filling.

I heated a small quantity of groundnut oil and turned the onions in the hot oil. I added the fish and carrot and stirred while frying.

I added the chili powder after a minute, and the seasoning cube and salt joined the party as well.

I allowed everything to fry on low heat for about four minutes, and I didn't stop stirring.

I set the filling aside and returned to the dough.

I brought my board and rolling pin because I needed to flatten the dough as I cut it bit by bit.

I cut the dough into smaller balls and first sprinkled some flour on the board. I applied flour to the rolling pin and started rolling over the small dough until it was very flat (thin).

I put some filling on the flattened dough and rolled it up.

The end of the flattened dough after adding the filling wasn't closed, so I pressed a fork at the end, and it gave me a nice design.

I repeated the process for the remaining dough and filling.

Finally, I heated my frying pan again and added some groundnut oil.

I allowed the oil to heat as well and started placing the fish pie into the hot oil.

I fried on low heat and turned the sides just to make sure both sides fried properly.

This snack is perfect for a rainy weekend, and all you need is a cup of coffee to balance the equation.

I am salivating!!
Was wondering why they addressed you as chef, and without me asking, you've shown it.
This looks go good. Been yearsss since I had fish pie. The last time was when I made it.
You filled yours with enough veggies. Quality stuff, yeah?😁

I still have to ask: Are you a chef, or do you just enjoy cooking?

Yeah, you don't need an oven to make this snack and it's quite simple to make. Frying pan and rolling pin are the required tool so don't hesitate to try this and tell me what you think.

Thanks for your time and cheers to a beautiful week.

When I saw fish pie I laughed because in Ghana, make no mistake of buying fish pie because you’ll end up finding fish head in the pie.😂😂

This looks rather delicious. I’ll be visiting you tomorrow morning so be prepared.

Lolz, are you serious? It's almost the same scenario here because people don't want to pay much for food and food seller are ready to just dish out anything for the sake of profit.

I should probably come to Ghana to start my snacks business all over again.

If you start your snack business here I know it would most definitely go big.

Now they have even reduced the filling in the pies.😂the system is hard.😂
