Garden Egg Suace for Creative Sunday.

Hello everyone, welcome to Hive Learners Creative Sunday Initiative.

As usual, I prepared something delicious and will share with everyone how to make the sauce themselves. Growing up, yam wasn’t one of my favorite meals but I love pounded yam and egusi soup which is a normal thing for every Ekiti indigene. My mom sometimes made rice for me while others ate yam but on a particular day, she made Garden Egg Suace which I couldn’t resist.

The aroma and color kept calling me and I had to respond, I remembered eating more than two slices of yam which I wouldn’t do on a normal day. I developed an interest in it and that made me eat yam often with the family.

I do switch between the regular fried egg sauce and garden egg sauce but at a point, my body started reacting to fried egg. It causes my belly to bloat so most times, I just choose garden egg.

Yam & Garden Egg Sauce

It is one of the foods I Iearned very early and it’s quite easy to prepare.

Let me take you through the process.

RECIPE

  1. Garden egg
  2. Yam
  3. Palm oil
  4. Seasoning cubes
  5. Salt
  6. Pepper
  7. Onions
  8. Ginger
  9. Garlic
  10. Peppersoup Powder.
  11. Fish.

PROCEDURE

Remember health is wealth so before anything will be done, all the recipes that need to be processed must be processed. Cooking isn’t just about making a meal, it involves cleanliness as well. If you take away cleanliness from your preparation, healthiness is far from the meal no matter what your recipes are.

Yam

  • I peeled the back of the yam, cut it into pieces and boiled them with a small quantity of salt. It cooked for about 20 minutes before it became soft, I seived the water and just let the yam be in the pot until the sauce was ready.

Garden Egg Sauce.

  • I boiled the fish and removed the bones completely

  • I boiled the garden egg as well and pounded it with ginger and garlic in a small mortar and pestle.

  • I used a hand blender for the pepper and sliced the onions as well.

  • I heated the palm oil in a frying pan before adding onions.

  • I added the fish a minute later and the pepper another minute later.

  • I added seasoning cubes, salt and Pepper soup powder. I allowed everything to fry for about five minutes under low heat.

  • I turned the processed garden egg into the frying pepper after five minutes and stirred. I did that until everything mixed properly and allowed it to fry again for another two minutes.

The Sauce Is Ready

  • I served the Garden Egg Suace with the yam and it was awesome.

Garden egg sauce is quite economical when serving large quantities of yam, it is delicious, easy to prepare, doesn’t take time and has lots of health benefits. It improves digestion, works for blood pressure and is rich in different vitamins that are very important for the body system.

Vegetarians who love yam a lot can eat this often and they are going to love it.

Wow! Georgie this is really creative!!! I enjoyed it. And learned something new. Mom overheard me watching and joined me. It was entirely new to both of us. Question. I’m not a huge fan of red oil. Can I use vegetable/soya oil instead?

Wow, I am glad mom love it as well. Why not, you can use Groundnut oil and probably some tomato paste to give it that reddish color.

You will definitely enjoy it.
