RE: Homemade Rhubarb Crumble: a garden-to-table recipe [EN/FR]

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

I just read your remark about the absence of a picture of me cooking. I'm a little surprised, because this rule applies, according to official guidelines, only to the first publications in the community. However, I have now been publishing here regularly for more than two years, with content that is still home-made, appreciated, and validated so far without worry.

If the rules have changed recently, it would be useful to update them clearly, rather than adding requirements on the fly. Of course, I am committed to following the instructions, but they must still be consistent, applicable to all, and written in black and white.

Does moderation work on the basis of clear rules or personal impressions?

Thank you for the time you spend in the community 👍🙏

Although you've been posting for two years, you don't do so frequently in this community. However, you are asked to appear in photos, not for personal reasons, but because when two or more people from the same household post, they are often asked to appear in their recipes, as this way we avoid farming. We hope you understand our request. Your most recent post in our community was muted because you ignored this request. We hope you comply with our request in your future posts.

Hello,

I must admit I remain puzzled.

For each post, I take the time to create 100% original content, strictly following the written rules of the community. And yet, I find myself penalized for a “rule” that exists nowhere officially, and that seems to appear depending on the moderation.

If a guideline is important, like the one about appearing in the photos, then why not simply add it in black and white in the community rules? That would avoid penalizing good-faith contributors, while also easing the work of the moderators.

I understand your intention to fight against certain abuses, and I support it. But for a community to function in a healthy way, its rules need to be clear, stable, and the same for everyone. It’s neither motivating nor fair to spend more than an hour creating content that respects the rules, only to see it muted because of criteria that were never stated.

I’ll keep your comment in mind for my next posts, but without an official update of the rules, chances are this vagueness will persist, to the detriment of everyone.

This message is not an attack, but an invitation to clarify things. Because a community is built with clear rules, not based on subjective impressions.

Have a good day nonetheless.
