First full weekend at home since november [EN/FR]

Hello Hive!

Last day before the weekend. And above all, first full weekend at home since November. Just that already feels good.

I planned to mow the lawn. First mowing of the year. A small discreet sign that spring is not very far anymore.

Yesterday, I spent a good part of my day making quotes. It is clearly not what I prefer in my work. Far from that. What I like is building things, thinking about solutions, breaking my head over projects. Not over paperwork.

But well, for now, one does not go without the other. So I learn to accept it.

Around noon, we went running with @altheana. We did the same route as Tuesday again. Not very long, about 30 minutes in total. It is enough to keep the rhythm and the habit of running.

And despite the short duration, it is not that easy. So it still allows us to progress a little at each outing.

In the afternoon, even if I went several times to the vegetable garden to check if my peas and my spinach were starting to come out of the ground (still not), I continued to work on my quotes.

I still have one left to finish this morning. But I must admit that I am not very motivated by this task. So I started by writing here.

During the day, I would also like to find a little time to work on a project that we have in common with @altheana. For now, the idea is to create an MVP (minimum viable product), send it to a few people who might be interested, see their feedback, then improve the project from these responses... or abandon it if we feel that the market is not ready for our solution.

I do not yet know if I will really have the time to devote myself to it today. My objective remains above all to finish as much as possible the projects that, for now, bring me money.

Yesterday evening, after work, I put on my work clothes to continue the drywall tapes upstairs, around the roof window.

I found a YouTube video of a guy who advises to put a lot of tape compound, then apply the corner tape while pressing well.

Indeed, it avoids the tape lifting that I had these past days. On the other hand, it leaves quite a lot of glue marks that I did not manage to smooth properly.

Normally, it should improve at the sanding stage.

@altheana came to continue her tapes as well. She has much more patience than me. And honestly, I admire that.

If everything goes well, tonight we should place the last tape. Finally. Then we will be able to sand and see if some need to be redone.

It is long. Very long.

I really cannot wait to move on to the paint ^^

Bonjour Hive !

Dernière journée avant le week-end. Et surtout, premier week-end complet à la maison depuis novembre. Rien que ça, ça fait déjà du bien.

J’ai prévu de tondre la pelouse. Première tonte de l’année. Un petit signe discret que le printemps n’est plus très loin.

Hier, j’ai consacré une bonne partie de ma journée à faire des devis. Ce n’est clairement pas ce que je préfère dans mon travail. Loin de là. Ce que j’aime, c’est construire des choses, réfléchir à des solutions, me casser la tête sur des projets. Pas sur de la paperasse.

Mais bon, pour l’instant, l’un ne va pas sans l’autre. Alors j’apprends à l’accepter.

Vers midi, on est partis courir avec @altheana. On a refait le même parcours que mardi. Pas très long, environ 30 minutes au total. C’est suffisant pour garder le rythme et l’habitude de courir.

Et malgré la courte durée, ce n’est pas si facile. Donc ça nous permet quand même de progresser un peu à chaque sortie.

Dans l’après-midi, même si je suis allé faire plusieurs tours au potager pour vérifier si mes petits pois et mes épinards commençaient à sortir de terre (toujours pas), j’ai continué à travailler sur mes devis.

Il m’en reste encore un à terminer ce matin. Mais je dois avouer que je ne suis pas très motivé par cette tâche. Alors j’ai commencé par écrire ici.

Dans la journée, j’aimerais aussi trouver un peu de temps pour travailler sur un projet que nous avons en commun avec @altheana. Pour l’instant, l’idée est de créer un MVP (minimum viable product), l’envoyer à quelques personnes qui pourraient être intéressées, voir leurs retours, puis améliorer le projet à partir de ces réponses... ou l'abandonner si on sent que le marché n'est pas prêt à notre solution.

Je ne sais pas encore si j’aurai vraiment le temps de m’y consacrer aujourd’hui. Mon objectif reste surtout de boucler au maximum les projets qui, pour l’instant, me rapportent de l’argent.

Hier soir, après le travail, j’ai enfilé ma tenue de chantier pour continuer les bandes de placo à l’étage, autour du velux.

J’ai trouvé une vidéo YouTube d’un gars qui conseille de mettre beaucoup de colle à bande, puis d’appliquer la bande d’angle en serrant bien.

Effectivement, ça évite les soulèvements de bande que j’avais ces derniers jours. Par contre, ça laisse pas mal de traces de colle que je n’ai pas réussi à lisser correctement.

Normalement, ça devrait s’améliorer au moment du ponçage.

@altheana est venue continuer ses bandes à elle. Elle a beaucoup plus de patience que moi. Et franchement, j’admire ça.

Si tout se passe bien, ce soir on devrait poser la dernière bande. Enfin. Ensuite, on pourra poncer et voir si certaines doivent être refaites.

C’est long. Très long.

J’ai vraiment hâte de passer à la peinture ^^
