I’m going other way then our friend here, its gone other way, both with total success on the total revenue & film quality.
It’s a shame this great director has wasted 20 years just on these films. !PIZZA !LADY
Yes the colors & beautiful setting was groundbreaking when the first came out, but this is a slow decline, I thought the new film was weak and even the second installment was better. It seems the revenue is declining each film but it’s still insane numbers snd very high, they will make 5 more of these not 1 or 2 at this rate. But should they? I would like to see James do something else.

These are good points. Making these movies is a lot of time and effort, so I also wonder what else this director can do beyond the Avatar world.

I definitely don't think the same, and I believe all of this is very understandable because this project is something very personal to him. Plus, is an extremely perfectionist filmmaker.
