Five Tune Friday! On Nineties Friday! 💿 With Ur Host Gene Everett! I’m Picking 5 Tunes Released In 1999 🎸 Alternative Rock Tunes/Records & Gene Talks Tunes Vlog!

This weeks Nineties Friday post I’m picking five random rock tunes released in 1999. All bands that hit it big in 1999 or had prior, excluding two of the tunes who’s 1999 records didn’t break them into the mainstream but there follow ups would hurt them into it post 2000 in the Alt2k era. The first being the band Chevelle and I pick a tune from there 1999 debut album. Though they didn’t get mainstream attention until 2001 follow up I picked this record because it was produced by Steve Albini (Of Bush & Nirvana producer fame). It just had a pure nineties vibe and was worth listening to. The second is my Bonus tune this week, Jimmy Eat World and there pre mainstream success record Clarity. The album has major label backing as did the 1997 debut but it just didn’t happen at that time. The other 4 songs are bands you probably heard before and the songs picked were hits!

For Bonus Jam as I mentioned earlier it’s Jimmy Eat World prior to there mainstream success in 2001/2002. However the music video features footage from 1999 movie Never Been Kissed and was on the soundtrack. I picked the movie soundtrack music video version to add in more nineties nostalgia! The song was also featured in an 1999 Episode of Party Of Five television show!
