Una Pausa en el camino [ESP/ENG]

De una forma inesperada, como cuando nos ocurren muchas cosas en nuestras vidas, solicité un transporte para la playa, para disfrutar del primer día del año con una amigas. Logré concretar la dirección donde estabamos y todo con mensajes privados con el chofer, usando el poco portugués que por ahora manejo.

Al encontrarnos, ambos distinguimos que hablabamos español. Solo que él no llegó a detectar mi acento. Por el contrario, yo enseguida noté que era venezolano. Cuando nos identificamos, como cuando les debe ocurrir a la mayoría de los venezolanos que estamos lejos de nuestra tierra nos sentimos como en casa, nos colocó música, salsa, calipso y después varias de esas de cortarse las venas. La verdad, todo fue muy divertido. Pero la parte más hermosa, fue cuando nos regaló hacer una parada para apreciar la vista.

Simplemente, lo adoré y estoy muy agradecida. Ahora en este inicio de año, quiero seguir conectada, no solo con la naturaleza, sino con esas pausas conscientes que deseo hacer para volver a estar en equilibrio, volver a compartir con algunas personas, generenciar mi tiempo y dedicarme a cumplir mis metas sin olvidarme de vivir.

In an unexpected way—just as many things happen in our lives—I requested transportation to the beach to enjoy the first day of the year with a friend. I managed to confirm the address where we were staying, communicating through private messages with the driver, using the little Portuguese I currently know.

When we met, we both realized we were speaking Spanish, although he couldn’t quite place my accent. I, on the other hand, immediately noticed he was Venezuelan. When we identified each other, as often happens to many Venezuelans living far from our homeland, we instantly felt at home. He played music—salsa, calypso, and then several of those heartbreak songs that go straight to the soul. Honestly, everything was a lot of fun. But the most beautiful moment was when he gifted us a pause, stopping so we could take in the view.

I simply adored it and feel deeply grateful. Now, at the beginning of this new year, I want to remain connected—not only with nature, but also with those conscious pauses I wish to cultivate in order to regain balance, reconnect with people, manage my time wisely, and dedicate myself to fulfilling my goals without forgetting to truly live.
