Saludos hivers. Cada espacio natural es el hogar de cientos de miles de animales, la mayoría de ellos pasan prácticamente desapercibidos para nosotros, ya sea por su tamaño o por lo esquivos que son. Algunos de nosotros, y con esto me refiero a los que nos gusta prestar atención y detallar la naturaleza, no nos cuesta mucho esfuerzo darnos cuenta de que hay un insecto sentado sobre una hoja, un pájaro volando de rama en rama o una traviesa ardilla buscando comida entre las hojas secas.

Hello hivers. Every natural space is home to hundreds of thousands of animals, most of which go practically unnoticed by us, either because of their size or their elusiveness. Some of us —and by this I mean those of us who like to pay attention and observe nature's details— don't have to struggle to notice an insect sitting on a leaf, a bird flying from branch to branch, or a playful squirrel searching for food among the dead leaves.

La naturaleza siempre tiene cosas nuevas para mostrarnos así que cada domingo que voy al parque ella me sorprende con sus pequeñas maravillas. Los protagonistas de hoy son algunos insectos y pequeños animales que me he encontrado mientras paseo por ahí, espero los disfruten 🐿️🐞😊.

Nature always has new things to show us, so every Sunday I go to the park, it surprises me with its little wonders. Today's highlights are some insects and small animals I've found while I walk around there. I hope you enjoy them 🐿️🐞😊.

La mayoría de los insectos y las arañas suelen ser los más fáciles de fotografiar ya que andan concentrados en sus propios asuntos sin prestarle mucha atención a la gente, aunque no se puede decir lo mismo de las mariposas y los saltamontes que siempre están atentos a cualquier movimiento jajaja. Igual me pasa con las aves, como no tengo una cámara con lente sino un celular, se me hace muy difícil hacerles buenas fotos, al menos que se acerquen mucho a mí o yo a ellas sin que se asusten 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Most insects and spiders are usually the easiest to photograph since they are focused on their own things without paying much attention to people, although the same cannot be said for butterflies and grasshoppers that are always alert to any movement hahaha. The same happens to me with birds, since I don't have a camera with a lens but a cell phone, it's very difficult for me to take good photos of them, unless they get very close to me or I to them without scaring them 🤷🏻‍♀️.

No pude identificar esto pero creo que son huevos de alguna especie de ortóptera / I couldn't identify these but I think they are eggs of some species of orthoptera

Desde otro ángulo parece la piel de un reptil jajaja / From another angle it looks like the skin of a reptile hahaha

La táctica cambia cuando lo que quiero fotografiar es alguna lagartija, ellas son tan sensibles al más mínimo movimiento que a veces por más que intente quedarme como una estatua, no logro hacer una buena foto 😕🤷🏻‍♀️. Lo mismo sucede con los pequeños mamíferos, en este parque hay muchos picures, es un roedor grande sin cola, les encanta aparecer corriendo en el parque, a veces solos y a veces en grupo, pero son tan rápidos que no me da tiempo de sacar el teléfono jajaja, un día tuve la suerte que apareció uno muy cerca de mí y le hice esta foto y hasta un video, se quedó un buen rato mirándome y luego salió corriendo jajaja. En otra oportunidad yo iba caminando y sentí la presencia de algo detrás de mí, cuando volteé había un picure muy cerca 😃, me quedé inmóvil y él también, hasta que dió un salto y desapareció entre el bosque.

The tactic changes when what I want to photograph is a lizard, they are so sensitive to the slightest movement that sometimes no matter how hard I try to stay like a statue, I can't get a good photo 😕🤷🏻‍♀️. The same happens with small mammals, in this park there are many picures, it is a large rodent without a tail, they love to appear running in the park, sometimes alone and sometimes in groups, but they are so fast that I don't have time to take out my phone hahaha, one day I was lucky that one appeared very close to me and I took this photo and even a video, it stayed at me for a long time and then ran away hahaha. On another occasion I was walking and I felt the presence of something behind me, when I turned around there was a picure very close 😃, I remained motionless and so did he, until he jumped and disappeared into the forest.

En este parque también hay muchas iguanas, he visto varias adultas pero un día se cayó de un árbol una muy pequeña cerca de donde estábamos haciendo Tai chi jajaja, y se fue corriendo a otro árbol, apenas me dió tiempo de tomarle una foto mientras iba subiendo por el tronco del árbol, cuando son bebés tienen un hermoso color verde intenso pero a medida que van creciendo el verde se hace más opaco. Otro de los descubrimientos interesantes fue este extraño nido en forma de tubo con todas esos pequeños insectos, busqué en internet y me enteré que son abejas limoncillo, resulta que esta especie no construye nido ni tampoco produce miel sino que invade nidos ajenos y se apodera de todo 😬😱, no tienen aguijón y no son polinizadoras.

There are also many iguanas in this park. I have seen several adult ones, but one day a very small one fell out of a tree near where we were doing Tai Chi, hahaha, and ran to another tree. I barely had time to take a picture of it as it was climbing up the tree trunk. When they are babies, they have a beautiful, intense green color, but as they grow, the green becomes more opaque. Another interesting discovery was this strange tube-shaped nest with all those little insects. I searched on the internet and found out that they are lemongrass bees. It turns out that this species doesn't build nests nor produce honey, but rather invades other people's nests and takes over everything 😬😱. They don't have a stinger and are not pollinators.

Otro de los habitantes más divertidos del parque son las ardillas, hay muchas y son sumamente activas, rápidas y juguetonas, aunque también tienen su carácter y a veces se pelean porque son muy territoriales 😬😂. No es nada fácil fotografiarlas porque son muy tímidas y desconfiadas, y la verdad es que hacen bien jajaja, pero siempre hay alguna que es más extrovertida y curiosa que las demás y se queda mirando a uno con el mismo interés que uno muestra hacia ellas jajaja. Son unos animalitos demasiado lindos, tiernos y graciosos jejeje.

Another of the park's most fun inhabitants are the squirrels. There are many of them and they are extremely active, fast, and playful, although they also have their own character and sometimes fight because they are very territorial 😬😂. It's not easy to photograph them because they are very shy and distrustful, and the truth is that they do well hahaha, but there is always one that is more outgoing and curious than the others and stares at you with the same interest that you show towards them hahaha. They are such cute, tender, and funny little animals hehehe.

Cuando estén en un espacio natural recuerden que hay mucho más de lo que alcanzan a ver nuestros ojos, sólo basta prestar un poquito de atención para poder disfrutar de todas las hermosas formas de vida que ahí habitan, y si pueden tomarles una foto, pues aún mejor 😁.
