Sus pequeños pero tan fascinantes cuerpos, muy diferentes al resto de los animales, nos generan curiosidad porque son como tecnología muy avanzada y habilidades de superhéroes en miniatura.

Hoy les traigo a uno de esos pequeños superhéroes del mundo de los insectos, uno muy habitual en los jardines, parques y casas y también uno del que más suelen huir los miedosos 🤭😂, entre ellos mi hermana 🤫🤭🤭, basta que vea a uno de estos saltarines cerca de ella y empezará a llamarme a gritos para que lo saque de la casa, y más vale que no se ponga a volar o le salte encima porque saldrá corriendo 🤣🤣🤣.

Today I bring you one of those little superheroes from the world of insects, one very common in gardens, parks and houses and also one that fearful people tend to run away when they see it 🤭😂, including my sister 🤫🤭🤭, it's enough for her to see one of these jumpers near her and she will start screaming for me to get it out of the house, and if it starts flying or jump on her she will run out 🤣🤣🤣.

A este amigo lo encontré en el estacionamiento de mi edificio, le puse uno de mis llaveros para que se montara y lo llevé a donde está la vegetación, ahí estaría más seguro y lejos del tránsito de personas. Me sorprendió que se quedara tranquilo porque por lo general, los saltamontes son inquietos y asustadizos pero creo que me he convertido en una especie de encantadora de insectos porque todos se quedan tranquilos cuando los agarro 😂😎😼.

I found this friend in the parking lot of my building, I gave him one of my key chains so he could sit and I took him to where the vegetation is, there he would be safer and away from the traffic of people. I was surprised that he stayed calm because grasshoppers are usually restless and skittish but I think I've become some kind of insect whisperer because they all stay calm when I catch them 😂😎😼.

Les presento a este saltamontes cabeza cónica de punta ancha, conocido científicamente como Neoconocephalus triops. Esta especie habita desde el Caribe hasta el norte de Estados Unidos.

Este saltamontes puede tener dos colores según el sexo y la región donde habite, y estas son, verde y marrón, según investigaciones que se han hecho, los machos son más susceptibles a los cambios de coloración relacionados a los fotoperiodos (influencia de las variaciones diurnas de luz y los períodos de oscuridad).

Los saltamontes son herbívoros y de hábitos diurnos / Grasshoppers are herbivores and have diurnal habits

Los machos frotan sus alas para producir un sonido o canto de llamado parecido al de los grillos. Cada especie de saltamontes tiene un canto diferente. El objetivo del mismo es atraer a las hembras, que los escuchan con los "oídos" que tienen en el abdomen.

Es la primera vez que puedo hacer una sesión de fotos con un saltamontes modelo jejeje, porque las muchas veces que han entrado a mi casa ha sido de noche y atraídos por las luces, a esa hora están muy asustados por estar fuera de su elemento y de su horario, recuerden que ellos son de hábitos diurnos. A las dos gatas de la casa les gusta cazarlos cuando los ven así que debo actuar rápidamente, agarrarlos y sacarlos antes de que les desprendan alguna de sus patas traseras.

It's the first time I can do a photo shoot with a model grasshopper hehehe, because the many times they have entered my house it has been at night and attracted by the lights, at that time they are very scared for being out of their element and of their schedule, remember that they have diurnal habits. The two cats in the house like to hunt them when they see them, so I have to act quickly, grab them and get them out before they lose any of their hind legs.
