Saludos hivers. El océano esconde los mayores misterios naturales del planeta, es por eso que decidí sumergirme en aguas profundas para inspirarme, y ahí conseguí a la protagonista para mí creación artística de hoy, una orca (Orcinus orca), conocida también como ballena asesina, aunque es importante aclarar que la orca no es en realidad una ballena sino un delfín, el mas grande de la familia de los delfines oceánicos (Delphinidae).

Hello hivers. The ocean holds the greatest natural mysteries on the planet, which is why I decided to dive into its deep waters for inspiration, and there I found the protagonist for my artistic creation today, an orca (Orcinus orca), also known as a killer whale, although it's important to clarify that the orca is not actually a whale but a dolphin, the largest of the oceanic dolphin family (Delphinidae).

Para hacer este dibujo utilicé una cartulina de construcción de color azul, lápiz, borrador, lápices de colores, marcador negro y lápiz de ojos blanco. Con un muy sencillo boceto empecé a darle vida a este cetaceo familia de los delfines.

To create this drawing, I used blue construction paper, a pencil, an eraser, colored pencils, a black marker, and a white eyeliner pencil. With a very simple sketch, I began to bring this cetacean, a member of the dolphin family, to life.

Los colores predominantes de este dibujo serán el azul, el blanco y el negro, empecé coloreando la ballena, resaltando primero sus características manchas blancas, y después, los rayos de luz que entran al agua y se reflejan sobre la piel de la orca.

The predominant colors of this drawing will be blue, white, and black. I started by coloring the whale, first highlighting its characteristic white spots, and then the rays of light that enter the water and reflect over the orca's skin.

Seguidamente usé varias tonalidades de azul, los tonos mas claros en la superficie, y los más oscuros mezclados con púrpura para darle mas profundidad al agua del océano. Las orcas están en la cima de la cadena alimenticia y con sus aproximadamente 10 toneladas de peso y 10 metros de longitud, en los machos, son el mayor depredador que habita en el océano. Ni siquiera el temible tiburón blanco se mete con ellas.

Next, I used various shades of blue, the lighter tones on the surface, and the darker ones mixed with purple to give the ocean water more depth. Orcas are at the top of the food chain, and with their approximately 10 tons in weight and 10 meters in length (for males), they are the largest predator in the ocean. Not even the fearsome great white shark messes with them.

El contraste del blanco y el negro es muy intenso en las orcas así que para lograr ese efecto utilicé un marcador negro para colorear las aletas, la cabeza, la punta de la cola, los costados y parte del abdomen donde no se refleja la luz sobre el cuerpo de este gigante del océano. También hice el marco.

The contrast between black and white is very intense on orcas, so to achieve that effect I used a black marker to color the flippers, head, tail tip, sides, and part of the belly where the light doesn't reflect on the body of this ocean giant. I also made the frame.

Y aquí el resultado final, esta hermosa orca está lista para sumergirse y disfrutar de la libertad y la inmensidad del océano, las orcas habitan en casi todos los océanos de nuestro planeta y son muy longevas, las hembras pueden vivir más de 80 años.

And here's the final result, this beautiful orca is ready to dive and enjoy the freedom and immensity of the ocean. Orcas inhabit almost all the oceans of our planet and are very long-lived; females can live for more than 80 years.
