La dama del abrigo negro (pintura en acuarela) / The Lady in the Black Coat (watercolor painting)

Saludos hivers. La mayoría de mis pinturas están protagonizadas por animales pero hoy quise variar la temática y me inspiré en la moda así que los invito a que me acompañen en este proceso creativo.

Hello hivers! Most of my paintings feature animals, but today I wanted to change things up and was inspired by fashion, so I invite you to join me in this creative process.

Utilicé la técnica de la acuarela y mis materiales fueron lápiz, borrador, pinceles, acuarelas y mi block de dibujo. Empecé con un boceto sencillo al cual le fuí agregando los detalles.

I used the watercolor technique, and my materials were pencil, eraser, brushes, watercolors, and my sketchbook. I started with a simple sketch to which I gradually added details.

La protagonista es una dama muy elegante con un estilo minimalista, eso significa pocos colores y líneas bien definidas. Comencé añadiendo un tono lila en el abrigo y celeste en el rostro.

The protagonist is a very elegant lady with a minimalist style, which means few colors and well-defined lines. I started by adding a lilac tone to the coat and light blue to the face.

A continuación pinté el abrigo y el sombrero de color negro, en este paso se me complicó un poquito el asunto porque como no estoy utilizando el papel adecuado para acuarela sino el que es mas delgado, lo pinté con un pincel mediano porque si hubiese usado uno grueso, que es lo correcto para areas mas grandes, iba a tener que usar mucha agua y la cartulina se hubiese doblado 😕. Es por eso que el abrigo quizás no se ve muy bien pintado 🙈😬🤷🏻‍♀️.

Next, I painted the coat and hat black. This step was a little tricky because I wasn't using the right watercolor paper, but the thinner kind. I painted it with a medium brush because if I had used a thick one, which is the correct one for larger areas, I would have had to use a lot of water and the paper would have warped 😕. That's why the coat might not look very well painted 🙈😬🤷🏻‍♀️.

No quería pintar el rostro con tonos piel sino algo diferente así que agregué amarillo y un poquito de naranja sobre el azul celeste que ya había pintado. Para la sombra utilicé azul y después violeta, y un toque rojo en los labios.

I didn't want to paint the face with skin tones but something different, so I added yellow and a little orange over the light blue I had already painted. For the shadows I used blue and then violet, and a touch of red on the lips.

Los detalles del sombrero los hice con lila y violeta, al igual que las líneas del abrigo.

I made the details of the hat with lilac and violet, as well as the lines of the coat.

Tengo unas acuarelas metálicas así que pensé que sería una buena idea agregarle un toque glam a este abrigo, para ello mezclé los tonos rosado y azul celeste y obtuve un lindo color lila metalizado. Lo que me gusta es que dependiendo de la dirección de la luz puede resaltar cualquiera de estos tonos metálicos, ya sea el lila, el azul celeste o el rosado. También le puse unas pinceladas de este lila metálico al sombrero y a su lazo decorativo.

I have some metallic watercolors, so I thought it would be a good idea to add a touch of glam to this coat. To do this, I mixed shades of pink and light blue and got a lovely metallic lilac color. What I love is that depending on the direction of the light, any of these metallic tones can stand out, whether it's the lilac, the light blue, or the pink. I also added a few brushstrokes of this metallic lilac to the hat and its decorative bow.

Y este es el resultado final, un look sencillo y minimalista pero muy elegante, perfecto para recorrer las calles en un día de otoño o de invierno.

And this is the final result, a simple and minimalist but very elegant look, perfect for walking the streets on an autumn or winter day.
